It also looks like there are no bowl games on December 21st as ESPN cleared the decks for the CFP games.

What happens with all the PAC12 bowl tie ins? They have to go to someone.

With our luck, we'll end up in the Perris, CA bowl vs the PAC-2 3rd-place finisher. At least it will be easy travel.

But the bowl options for the MW are terrible. How will the PAC 12 bowls be filled going forward? Alamo (San Antonio): Big 12 vs. Pac-12 Las Vegas: Big Ten vs. Pac-12 Holiday (San Diego): Pac-12 vs. ACC Sun (El Paso): ACC vs. Pac-12 - I predict t LA (Inglewood, Calif.): Mountain West vs. Pac-12 Independence (Shreveport, La.): Big 12 vs. Pac-12 Will they need 6 bowls? Don't forget that with the new cfp format, there will now be 11 power teams in the CFP instead of 4, meaning that essentially 4 Bowls were eliminated. Some of these bowls will die.

Good point - semis going back-and-forth from east LA County distribution centers make up about 25% of the traffic, it seems like. Since I'm making up bowl locations, let's bring back the Poinsettia Bowl and hold it at SnapDragon! I don't even care if we have to play the FOURTH place PAC-2 team!!

let's first see if SDSU is even eligible for a Bowl
Side note the Holiday Bowl used to be PAC vs BIG - then they dropped the BIG for the ACC - so they now have a PAC 2 or ? and an ACC that could be diluted even more ? so wonder what could happen there
Bowl games with the Expanded playoffs could get even more diluted

I have a feeling, if the Holiday Bowl lasts, it'll be moved to SnapDragon when the Petco contract ends, if not earlier. Definitely once SDSU West is nearly built out with retail, restaurants and the hotel. Why spend all that money to retrofit Petco Park for football every year?

The DT Hotels will help pay any bills so they can get visitors when games are at Petco
might want to see how things shake out this year with the expanded playoffs ?

They spent a lot to retro Petco, it's not moving for a long, long time. And to understand it even better, attend a red coat gathering to understand it even better.

The P4 not only sucks up the best Athletes and Coaches, but the top Bowls as well
These Bowls offer some decent G5 matchups, does anyone really care outside of those specific fanbases ?

Petco has proven to be a successful venue because of it's proximity to the Gas Lamp, waterfront, etc. The travelling fans love it as well. Why mess with a good thing ? As to MW Bowls, they should move the LA Bowl to Vegas. It's a better travel destination for fans.

As to MW Bowls, they should move the LA Bowl to Vegas. It's a better travel destination for fans. We'll see what happens with the former Pac-12 bowl affiliations. If the Holiday Bowl has issues attracting top "second tier" teams, they may be best served moving to the smaller capacity SnapDragon stadium once the village is built out. Lots of nearby hotels in Mission Valley. I do understand the attraction of the waterfront and the Gaslamp. Short of that though, I'd love for the Poinsettia Bowl to come back to serve an MWC team vs another G5 or even a middling P4 school.

thought that the Holiday Bowl has a multi- year agreement with Petco - in addition the DT Hotels will assist in paying for the Bowl game
Is quite a good place for Visiting fans to spend time DT and the surrounding areas - including the Battle of the Bands and Parade - so would guess that Petco will be its home for a while
Key as we will see with expansion of the playoffs what it will do for other Bowl games
Who makes the money in the Minor Bowl games ?

I recently spent a weekend downtown. I'm not returning anytime soon. Place has become a literal $#!+ show. I spent 30 mins in the Gaslamp the last time (~18 months ago) I was there with my wife. Got nearly run off the road into the side of parked cars twice, physically threatened over a parking space, and generally distubed by everything I saw. Then got back in the car and drove off; and am never going back there again. I'll stick to Hillcrest, Normal Heights, and OB from now on when I'm visiting.
