We want MWC teams to be as good as possible. Mashburn, Dent and Toppin might win UNM a big OOC game or two to help improve our SOS and NET. Mash won't play D The other two I'd be happy to see on the Mesa. |

Louisville did not want to reopen the Pitino name again
But do wonder if other schools might want him and or if he could bring some of his top players with him if he was hired to a new school

Today he posted how much he loved Reno, but never said he was staying. |

If I was an AD, I don't know if he would even make a phone screen. I think he needs to win a game in the tourney. In terms of Alford, he's the older version of Pitino. |

I hate every other school in our conference and I can’t wait until we are away from them. I would love it if we never played New Mexico again. With the attitude, the next step is the Big West. We have some good basketball and football rivalries. There will be no mythical, elect Pac to move into. |

Yes, and the only thing I can think of that might help him get a job at Louisville, is because his dad was a coach there for quite awhile. I don't know. No other reason, except maybe that pull. |

there are those that see Pitino Sr as a negative and could have cost him the job at Louisville
Will be interesting to see how many players stay at their various MW schools or check out the Portal - new Mexico has a very good 5 - also their sophomore guard - a major selling point for a coach is who can they bring with them to a new school
Same with BSU and other schools

Todd Simon is emerging as the leading contender for the head coaching position at Utah State. His resume includes coaching jobs at Findlay Prep (HC), UNLV (AHC)9-8, Southern Utah (HC)118-106, and his current role at Bowling Green (20-14). Total W-L: 147–128 (.535)

you can Google Basketball Transfer Portal - and there are a few places that list them
Believe Acker to soon be officially named HC at Long Beach State
Fresno - per the Fresno Paper - will be talking with a few of the Texas assistant coaches who were also with HC Terry at Fresno and others - might be important to get a start on the transfer portal or might they want to get a HC from similar Mid level school that can bring some players with him
