I don't believe I'm spoiled. I go back to 1963 with games in Peterson Gym. We were College Division (equivalent to Division 2) not University Division (equivalent to Division 1) back in those days). You'd have been put in a padded cell for even thinking about making the Final Four or Championship Game. Some of those years were were pretty good, even making it to the "Elite 8" equivalent of College Division in those days. I all suffered through some of the very dark years with few wins.
I'm just extremely thankful I've been able to enjoy the wonderful run we've had under Fisher and Dutcher and I 'm very appreciative of what they've accomlished.

I was sitting in the stands in Spokane and Waters missed a couple shots, the Yalies drained a couple treys, and our lead shrank from 30 to 24. A few fans began grousing about our play, clearly frustrated by some miscues. I laughed and said, “Did you ever imagine the day when you’d be b*tching about a 24-point lead with under 7 minutes to play in an NCAA Tournament game? These are first world problems.”

What Coach Fisher built and what Coach Dutch has elevated is incredible. SDSU fans are so fortunate to be watching this Basketball Program right now. Thinking back to the Sports Arena and Peterson Gym days the current state of the basketball program blows my mind. Enjoy every minute of it! There are millions of fans that wish they had what we have. I'm thrilled to see this program constantly in the Top 25. Win or lose against UCONN I'm very happy with this season.

Yes, yes we are. Even up by 30, we're critiquing the hands of the freshman backup center.

Miles Byrd, Elijah Saunders, and BJ Davis looked very good today. Agree about BJ. When he finally got in I told my wife that I really hoped he could score as his shooting numbers were terrible and I think he's a really good shooter. It feels like he's trying so hard when he gets in those last mop-up moments that he isn't himself. Before last night he was 1-13 from the floor, including 1-11 from 3 and 5-7 FT. That's from a kid who was a 50%-40%-90% shooter in high school. His two FTs swished and his moves around the basket for his FG drew raves from the announcing crew. Hope Dutch finds a minute or two for him going forward and that if they do bring in an experienced PG from the portal, Davis stays and fights for the job. I think he could be our Donovan Dent but a better shooter. ******* I also want BJ to do well but he was up against the Yale bench and walkons.

I may or may not have posted this on AM, but earlier in the season I said to several people that I thought getting to the Sweet 16 would be a very satisfactory conclusion to the season. Matching our previous high in the Tournament, previous to last season, following the participation in the Championship game would be wonderful. With all the random factors involved with making a run in the Tournament, making the Elite 8 or Final Four again would require some minor miracles. I'm going to be able to relax watching Thursday's game and don't plan on being stressed at all. Unless, of course, we're making a close game of it in the second half. They I'll be back to my normal game time over stressed self.
Now that we have the Sweet 16 in our pocket I do really hope we exceed all expectations like we did last year.

Love my Stresstecs. Just need a double Aztecarita to calm me down. Amazing how times have changed; we used to salivate over a chance to be a 14 seed.

Don't forget we got robbed of our best team because of covid😡 That was truly one of the most crushing things to go through as a fan - who knows how far that team goes!

Same. Before the season began, I told my friends that I'd be happy if we make the Sweet 16. Anything past this round is icing on the cake. I don't expect us to win against a juggernaut like UConn but I certainly hope we achieve the improbable. I didn't think Yale had any chance of beating Auburn or Oakland upsetting Kentucky but they did it so it could happen.

Never went to any games at Peterson Gym but went to quite a few at Sports Arena, including one against a very good Don Haskins UTEP team when Smokey's '84 Aztec team won by 14--good game, good crowd, great atmosphere...but nothing like the electric atmosphere at Viejas.

I turned on the tv one day before the NCAA tournament had started and there were a bunch of NIT games going. These included the following schools: Ohio State, Providence, Xavier, Georgia, LSU among others. And all I could think of is that we are spoiled and SDSU basketball has been really good for a while now.

a lot of hard work by all the coaches - and fans the last X amount of years
does prove that when there is the hard work things can pan out
Fisher / Dutcher have also survived as their assistants have been poached away by P6 schools and lately NIL money grabbed away some additional players that would have helped this team to be even better
So this is a Program that with the proper leadership has done well
A pat on the back for the fans who have suffered along the way
Toss in some players who have honored their commitments to come here , some guys from HS that have stayed with the program and helped build it and guys that have changed their style of play - bought into the Fisher / Dutcher - add a good group of transfers
It has not been easy or over night
So would not say spoiled but rather as the phrase goes to a lot of Fans - Players / Coaches /Fans who have BELIEVED that this Program will WIN and deserve to see it continue not exactly easy to do with the lure of BIG MONEY
There are fans who have stayed with the program through a lot of thicket and now deserve the enjoyment - Hope it lasts

Don't think we are spoiled. Be grateful. Nobody is going to give you a National Championship.
Neither UCONN nor any of the following three opponents are going to play soft or roll over for us.
True championships are earned, and you have to FIGHT for it.
Shaka Smart summarized after returning to the S16 after 13 years:
“Just gratitude. Gratitude for these guys, our fans, our guys hanging in there and continuing to fight, and now we get to keep playing. … I LOVE these guys. I don’t want the season to end. That’s the biggest thing.”
It takes a lot of brotherly love to accomplish what this team is accomplishing, regardless of the terribly uninformed, low basketball IQ comments people make here.

Point is many Aztec fans have had to suffer through the lean years and there were a lot of them - so Deserve the good times also
Spoiled is to me someone who has gotten a lot of good things from those around them and not really earned them - Say a person who has inherited their wealth or status and then lives off of them even though they may not have earned them

These are the good years. Enjoy them. Miles Byrd, Elijah Saunders, and BJ Davis looked very good today. Heide (6'10") and Gwaith (7'0") could be future starters, but both need more strength, more development, and more time. I feel pretty confident that Compton (6'8") could come in a see significant minutes at the 4 (PF), Taj Degourville (6'5" 210) is an unknown at this level. It looks like he was shut down after 7 games at Wasatch Academy, available stats: 9.7 PPG, 4.9 RPG, 2.6 APG, and .9 SPG in 25 minutes per game. But only 7 games were played, can play both guard positions. Waters is coming back, Butler & Parrish TBD. I think we will add a 5 (post-player) a combo guard or point guard, plus a scoring wing (3rd priority), in the transfer market.
