CFP and ESPN just agreed to huge contract through 2031-2032 www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/39766079/college-football-playoff-espn-agree-deal-2031-32Here is breakdown of each current P5 school revenue currently and with the new deal -SEC goes from $5.5M -> $21M per school -Big10 goes from $5.5M -> $21M per school -ACC goes from $5.5M -> $13M per school -B12 goes from $5.5M -> $12M per school -Notre Dame goes from $5.5M to $12M -Group of 5 goes from $1.5M to $1.8M per school"For now, the CFP is treating Oregon State and Washington State as independent schools in 2026 and beyond. Given the conference's uncertain status with 10 schools leaving next season, new Pac-12 commissioner Teresa Gould did not sign the memorandum of understanding last week or the new six-year deal with ESPN, but she did agree to the amended contract with the network for the 2024 and 2025 seasons" Washington State and Oregon State can join or merge with the MWC and drop from $5.5M to $1.8M OR spend that cash from the Pac12 to put together the best possible conference of 10 schools with hopes of negotiating $8-$10M per school. I'm thinking: -Washington State -Oregon State -San Diego State -Tulane -Colorado State -Memphis -South Florida -Boise State -Air Force -UNLV or App State These I think are most attractive to ESPN and schools investing in football. Geography is tough for Memphis, South Florida and possibly App State but then again Stanford and Cal are in ACC! |

The funny thing is that Oregon State and Washington State think that they are attractive to Power Conferences. I would argue that SDSU is more attractive than either one of those schools. SDSU is located in Socal with a bigger TV market and until recently had equal to better success than those schools in Football and Basketball. Also academically SDSU is on par with both those schools. I don't think OSU or WSU has come to grips with their new station in the world of college athletics.

if this is for all sports there is no way you can put school that are in the Far West and Some in the East - travel expenses and also hurt the academics for the Student athletes
Also lets be real and see what the TV Network Marketing teams come up with and They will be the driving partner with the PAC 2 - but would guess that to start with you want mostly Schools in the far west areas - and Not schools with a high elevation - AFA and CSU ....
But again it is being formed by the PAC 2 with the TV networks

No offense, but to add schools three time zones away a recipe for disaster. Kinda akin to what Stanford n Cal gonna be in next year. While I hope n pray we join WSU n OSU in any form that leaves most of the MWC to fend for themselves. At least USF is near Tampa, App St is in Boone , NC? Tulane n Memphis? Probably get a direct flight? I certainly can live with UNLV, AF? So would need 3 more to get to 10. Wouldn't mind if Stanford ,Cal and SMU came back, but egos probably hinder that. So, Texas is a place to look? UTSA is going to get bigger n better. Rice, NM,Fresno, SJSU, not a lot to get excited about, except leaving the dead weight behind. Think goin to 8 for first couple/5 years the best way to go.

In fact, their argument is really weak given they and FSU signed the GOR not once but an extension as well. That is why they are shopping for a favorable venue to hear it. |

That is why they are shopping for a favorable venue to hear it. 100% From a LEGAL perspective, I cannot fathom how FL St / Clemson could win. They will find a much more favorable 'judgement' in the court of public opinion (my guess). So I think the end result is a negotiated exit... that's not nearly as favorable as FL St or Clemson want, but enough that they can get out and then immediately join the SEC. Which would set a precedent for UNC and UVA to do the same, and leave for the B1G. But I'm not sure any other ACC schools have the $$$ or value to garner a prospective invite to either the SEC or B1G. |

The thought of Lower Nevada involved in a new upgraded conference makes me want to throw up in my mouth, then I remember, this is all about TV Viewership and the ideals of which College Sports were originally founded, no longer exist.

Clemson is just trying to negotiate a lower exit fee.
In the end, around 40 schools will leave the ncaa with all sports.
I wish them well. At that point, they will just be a semi pro league which I will have no desire to be part of. I also have a feeling by then NIL will morph into players being university employees with the same benefits as other university employeeS. The budgets will balloon to around 200 million a year. Good luck trying to balance the books.

The way things are going, they are probably in the Western Division of the ACC in a couple of years. They’ll only need 4 more teams to fill that out.
