A lot of "experts" keep saying 6 but I think it's 5 at most. I think New Mexico was going to be out if they'd lost to Boise State. But now they're in but others may have to worry.
There's been a lot of bid thieves already; 1) Either UAB or Temple will win the AAC. FAU is a lock already. 2) Either VCU or Duquesne will win the Atlantic 10. Dayton is a lock already. 3) North Carolina State won the ACC, no on had them in before the tournament. 4) Oregon won the PAC12 and wouldn't have been in otherwise. 5) Texas A&M wasn't a bid stealer but they weren't projected in until they beat Ole Miss and Kentucky in the SEC Tournament. 6) Mississippi State did the same thing.
That's a lot of teams to squeeze into the brackets that weren't there before.
I think either Nevada or Colorado State are out.

Six (6), really!!
Three (3) at the max and same would be a gift to the MWC!
New Mexico (Automatic Bid) San Diego State (MWC dominance over the Year and las year Final Four) Colorado State, Boise State or Nevada.

Utah State - 18 games regular season conference champ has to count for something Nevada Boise State SDSU New Mexico Maybe next year, CSU! It was a tough night for Isiah Stevens, who tried to play with a strained calf against UNM. Stevens stayed at CSU this season to make the tourney.

I go with 6. In NM had not won the MWCT they probably would have been out because 1) 6 MWC teams is a lot 2) they have some bad losses 3) they were listed as a bubble team.
No other MWC teams were listed as bubble and none had a poor loss. None of their stock should have fallen.
6 teams. Go MWC. Go Aztecs.

And how many of these 6 MWC dancers don't play at elevation? Yeah, exactly one. We'll see what happens to the rest.

Don't care, as it only helps us financially a little. Getting 6 is mildly beneficial to a terrible conference. Just gotta get our s#!t together and not be one n done. Last year is over.

I'm going with 5, CSU gets left out. Not that the Rams aren't deserving. I just have a hard time seeing the committee putting 6 MWC schools in.

Utah State is the lowest-ranked team in both NET and Kenpom, by a lot in the latter, but I don't see how they keep out the regular season champion of a major conference. This isn't the MEAC we're talking about. CSU and Nevada are a coin flip in the NET, CSU and Boise the same in Kenpom. I can't imagine they go with less than six, but it'll be tough choosing who they drop if so. Might have two MW teams in Dayton.
BTW, told you the Aggies aren't as good as their record.

And how many of these 6 MWC dancers don't play at elevation? Yeah, exactly one. We'll see what happens to the rest. The difficulty of the MW is the elevation and travel. Those won’t be issues in the tournament. State does well because they win in spite of those challenges. Reno 4505 elevation but easy travel ABQ 5312 elevation but easy travel BSU 2695 elevation but easy travel USU 4534 elevation and terrible travel CSU 5003 elevation and terrible travel altitudecentre.com/altitude101/They will lose their advantage in the tournament unless they get slotted in SLC. We shall see.

I think they will get 6 but if anyone falls out it will probably be Colorado State.
More than how many they get in, the question is will any of the teams other than SDSU win even one game?
Recent history not positive, look for another bad showing by the MWC when refs aren't putting a team to the FT Line over and over again on ticky tack calls like they do all season long in the Mountain West.

We shall see. You left out Laramie and Colorado Springs. Isn't CSU an easy trip ? Direct flights to Denver. Hotel in Denver. One hour bus ride to Moby Arena. I remember hearing the OG beat writers talk about the mid-winter roadie to CSU/Wyoming. They would fly into Denver. Hotel there for three nights and bus to both Arenas for the games. Brutal.
