#5, with a possible matchup with Auburn, and then UCONN That was quick, and anti-climatic.. Would be nice to get another opportunity to slay that dragon. Obviously, it would be very difficult, you never know..

Auburn is really, really good. This looks like the Alabama game last year, only our team last year was better. If we manage to beat them, then we've got the rematch against UCONN. Ouch.
That's assuming we win the first round game. I'd give us about a 66% chance of winning that.

MW getting smoked. So much for 6 schools, looks more like 4 based on the first 34 teams.
#5 East: Aztecs #10 South: Boise St/Colorado (play in)

New Mexico still to be placed. That makes 5 MWC teams.

Utah State an 8 seed. CSU in a play in game against Virginia. MWC will get six in but if USU is an 8 seed it looks like the conference is getting screwed over once again.

Not sure Nevada gets in, but they do have a camera crew there from CBS.

I couldn’t care less about the rest of the MWC at this point. All I care about is the money it brings in.

MWC:
SDSU: 5 USU: 8 Nevada: 10 BSU: 10 (Play In) CSU: 10 (Play In) UNM: 11
It's like they had to hold their nose to figure out how to get 6 MWC teams in.

With 6 MWC teams going to the NCAA tournament, that means UNLV is in the NIT. Reason is the next placed team in a major conference. This conference must strengthen their non-conference schedule. Again, SDSU had the best non-conference schedule in the MWC.

Does the MWC still get a credit for the two play in games? Or only from the bracket of 64?

Ziegler always happy to report negative news regarding sdsu. Ziegler has to be disappointed that sdsu got a 5 seed. Ziegler and Gary Parrish need to get a room - should be plenty of openings after today's Las Vegas exodus.

What's beautiful is that we didn't get screwed.... If anything, we have a regional seeding, with an extra day off and a favorable (5) slot..... We are officially part of the MM club.... Play enough MM games, win enough MM games and you get some preferencial treatment..... We'll take it!

Play enough MM games, win enough MM games and you get some preferencial treatment..... We'll take it! Great points! I think we got a great seeding and game. I was so worried about getting McNeese State or James Madison. It would have been like last year getting Charleston with everyone picking against us and going into the game worried and overly concerned. That doesn't mean we can't lose to UAB, it's just much less likely than had it been one of the other two teams. We got a 22-11 team with #105 NET who played the 136th hardest OOC schedule compared to our 9th hardest. They are 269th in bench minutes, 185th in average height and 221st in D-1 experience. We are 212th in bench minutes, 104th in average height and 44th in D-1 experience. They were 0-4 in Q1 games, had 3 Q2 losses, 2 Q3 losses and 2 Q4 losses. We were 4-9 in Q1 games, had 1 Q2 loss and no Q3 and Q4 losses. They have a 6'9" 230 lb F, Lendeborg, who averages a double-double 13.8-10.5 and averages about 3 fouls a game. Their other 6'9" 265 lb F, Davis also averages 3 fouls a game. They spread the ball around a lot with 4 starters scoring in double figures and the fifth is 9.2 ppg. BUT....they're also coming into MM playing very well. Getting hot is important as we know from last year. Gotta take them seriously but there's a reason we're already a -7.5 favorite.

If we get to UConn, they will smoke us by 30. They are that good. They are even better than last year.

Again, SDSU had the best non-conference schedule in the MWC. Going to a 20-game MWC schedule is not the way to get better OOC games. This is true now that the Power Conferences will be between 14-18 schools, so there are fewer P6 games in the OOC, and then add in the Holiday Tournaments, and the made-for-TV conference challenges (ACC–Big Ten Challenge, SEC/Big XII) there are fewer game options. Plus, when the Aztecs asked the PAC 12 for OOC games, most of them (UCLA/USC/AZ) said no out of fear of getting an "L", or due to a conflict in recruiting the same players from HS or fear of losing PAC 12 transfers in the portal.
