Seriously! That is an Aztec All Timer… down 17 win by 16??!! With Ledee on the bench half the game thanks to lousy refs calling terrible fouls on our best player. The refs were terrible for them at times as well, but when you make those 2 BS calls on Jaedon early and it impacts so much nothing trumps that. This one should go into Aztec lore. It probably locks us in as a 5 seed - we’d probably dropped to a 6. Win tomorrow… maybe a 4 seed … out west Was it the Iowa game in 2019-20 when we went down big and came back behind Flynn's big game? Similar kind of turnaround. And, of course, CSU this year. I'd say we're locked in at no matter what happens tomorrow. Not much more time for big changes. That was the game where i knew that team was different. Iowa had one of the best players in the country (Luka Garza) and the offense played incredibly crisp in the comeback |

THIS is the MM team. Winning the tournament should dispel any fears about not earning a 4\5 seed come Sunday … We deserve a solid 4 … in the west if we win tomorrow Hope we do it as there is so much more talk nationally about the top 4 seeds. |

Not winning the title game and the Aztecs women did play 4 mwc tournament games in 4 days. The CSU-NM winner will play 4 games this year. 4 games plus the quicker turnaround. Plus neither team is very deep. Even though Saunders, Heide and Byrd did t do much tonight, Dutcher spread out minutes so we should be MUCH fresher tomorrow Win win win Cut down net A Z T E C S got next I’m dreaming of Sweet 16s and Elite 8s. Again |

We're the highest seed in the tournament still standing? One, two, three and four all out! I did say earlier in another thread that any of the top 7 teams could win the tournament this year. It's going to be the 5th place team against either the 6th or 7th place team.
Did you notice the list of teams that finished 1st in their conference who had already lost in their conference tournament? It was a surprisingly long list.

A big key was containing Brown. I believe he went 3-11 and was really a non factor.

Regardless of the finals outcome, this team of LeDee, Butler, Trammell, Parrish, Waters, Pal, Byrd, Saunders, and Heide showed some real heart in a game that was getting really ugly. Hung in there despite the zebras, battled back and showed who was the better team in the second half. Our fans were great and the USU fans balloon deflated after the Aztecs took a 5-6 point lead. Props to the players coaches and fans, a complete team effort

My pure guess is we are locked into the 5 seed regardless of result tomorrow. 5 should be our floor. With a win, possible 4. Other projected 4s (Duke, Bama, Kansas) had some really bad conference tourney losses. |

Unfortunately, the Loblows looked locked in to win tonight. Not their team that really matters, but they brought most of the State of New Mexico with them to LV this week. They pretty much filled the house for their game tonight. CSU had a few sections, and the rest of the place was Loblow Central. Woof-Woof-Woof. They'll be loud tomorrow, and that chump, House, will be egging them on.
AZZZZZZZZZZZZtec fans need to be in the house early and stay loud for the entire game. The volume was much better tonight, but it's going to need to increase even more tomorrow afternoon if all the LoBlow fans that were there tonight show up.

So, Johnson is 0-5 this year on FTs? Maybe that's something he should work on. Maybe the worst form I’ve ever seen. Ever. I don’t get it No maybe. It is the worst I have ever seen at collegiate level. Far worse than Skylar’s shot put or Josh Davis slow-mo. Johnson has not even had one close. Davis’ worst shots missed by more, but he could make some. I am not sure if DJ shot 10 more that I would expect him to make any. There is no way he can get that shot off in a game. |

It's a testament to their defense and resiliency. But, also a way to give their fans heart problems
