A pretty important footnote. We never should have gone to overtime because Whaley stepped out of bounds before he hit a layup at the end of the game. Why was this not reviewed and overturned? If these refs are going to stop the game for 5 minutes to review fouls, how can they not review such a huge play. The entire point of having replay under two minutes is to avoid missed calls like this. Inexcusable MW.

Was I the only one that thought on LeDee's last basket, we didn't milk the clock at all, leading to the excitement at the end? No. That was the play. The right side of the court opened up. Gotta go when it’s time to go. Then rely on your defense.

Going into it, I didn't think they could beat us two in a row that quickly. I thought we would rise to the occasion and hit our threes. It almost happened.
Having said that, don't we own the Thomas & Mack this time of year, anyway?

LeDee 34 points, the rest of the ENTIRE team, 40.
World domination - or at least Total MWC domination. He put the team on his back again tonight. But he's getting beat up a little bit more every game now. Hope they all manage to get a good rest tonight, especially LeDee.

So true. But … we’ve seen “WTF” moments from this team all season, often many times within the same game. When he shot that I was sure it was going in. Shocked it didn’t. It was straight on, maybe 8/12” short. Thank God. The call is to foul as soon as anyone on UNLV touches the ball. We know the ball is going to Thomas so it’s an immediate hack. Should be simple but to your point, nothing is simple with this team. You said it perfectly … nothing is simple with this team. The nagging part is they keep making the same mistakes, doing the same thing game after game after game. We play hard, we defend really well - though not quite as well as last season - several of our guys are not only not consistent but whose play has completely imploded, with Parrish & Waters at the top of that list. We desperately need them to play well, they are both very experienced. It’s head scratching. They have both played very well often in their careers, so there’s hope they can step and play better. They don’t need to play like Superman, just be solid & consistent… and take and make good shots.

USU student section, in the lower bowl, was very loud, did their “I believe” chant. I didn’t see the “Show” there nor did the “I believe” chant get performed. SDSU students need to show up.

He was looking right at Whaley. That’s his job!! If I can see it during live action, from far away, how does he miss it?! I thought I saw it wrong because he was looking right at it. Mind boggling. Inexcusable.

Score was SDSU 64 UNLV 57 when that Whaley play happened at 1:10 left. Whaley was gifted the two points to make it 64-59.

Having said that, don't we own the Thomas & Mack this time of year, anyway? Since the MWC Tourney returned to the T&M in 2007, the Aztecs are 36-13 in the Tournament. They have also won 9 straight games against UNLV in the Tourney since 2009. Absolutely stunning.

The biggest tactic UNLV used to key their comeback was to screen Butler when defending Thomas, forcing SDSU to switch Pal with Butler on D. Sadly, Thomas owns Pal. He simply ties Pal into knots. I didn't count, but over the final three or four minutes, Thomas scored at least three or four buckets following a switch and driving against Pal. It was maddening. And remember, it was against Pal that Thomas hit the step-back a week earlier.
To his credit, Dutcher put Saunders in during OT, who managed to get two big stops against the freshman guard. And that really was the game.

How does this team win such a sloppy, ugly, disjointed game? Oh yeah, defense and rebounds...and Jaedon Ledee. Man, just a brutal offensive game outside of Ledee. Parrish, Saunders, and Waters were a combined 1 for 20!!! But, I guess if I had to come up with a word...scrappy. They were on the floor and playing their usual style of defense.
