Maybe the coaching staff knows more than you do? Just sayin'. It's puzzling to me as well, why we're considering a 6'7" shooting guard who has shot below 30% from three-point range and less than 40% from the field. From what I gathered from Dutch and Dave V, it seemed clear that the Aztecs require an experienced power forward to finalize our roster. Well on second thought, based on what you psoted he will fit in perfectly here. 😁

Does Josh Davis have any eligibility remaining?
Maybe Jimmy Williams knows somebody...

Jaykwon Walton sure changes his mind alot: Commits to Miss St. out of high school, then decommits without playing a game. Commits to Georgia. Leaves Georgia after one year and enrolls at Shelton CC. Leaves Shelton CC after one year and commits to Miss St. again. Decommits from Miss St. without playing a game and commits to Wichita St. Leaves Wichita St. after two years, and commits to Alabama. Leaves Alabama without playing a game and transfers to Central Florida. Leaves Central Florida without playing a game, and transfers to Memphis. One year at Memphis and he's in the Portal.

Hopefully Jaykwon is more decisive on the basketball court.

At least we know he would only be here for a year, or go somewhere else before he plays a game. LOL

Yanni and LeDee didn’t blossom until they got to the Mesa. Trust Dutch and Staff. Those guys are different to me cause they never really had an opportunity and were more unknowns. This guy was good a while back but then regressed greatly. That’s a different animal. Most players regress at Memphis under Penny's coaching. Boogie Ellis was better at USC than he was at Memphis, and USC is dysfunctional. He is listed as a G on Memphis' roster. having a 6'7" SG to man up the taller SG's on other teams, might be what they are looking for. Plus, he is a one year rental as Dutch likes. Finally, in this day and age, you have to wonder what the price tag is on some of these player left in the portal. They could be pricing themselves out of SDSU.

"Pricing" could also go the opposite direction... as 'places to land' start becoming fewer and fewer as guys commit, expectations or $$ 'requirements' could also start coming down quite a bit. Given that SDSU now has a strong 10-deep rotation (albeit inexperienced at PF), we can probably afford -- pun intended -- to take a little time if needed.

New Mexico just got the BYU Senior transfer, 6'10" 220 lbs Atiki Ally Atiki. He averaged 11 minutes, 4 PPG, 2.9 Reb and 0.5 blocks. He shot 62.5% inside, 0-2 from 3 and 46% FT.

Doug Gottlieb’s All Ball podcast had a really good 3 part with one of the leading NIL agents, and they cover a lot of ground on how all this stuff works. Highly recommend, it paints a really good picture of what’s going on with all of this, and the ebbs and flows, and how things change towards the end of the portal period.

Seems pretty damn stupid. If you take 2 injuries your season is essentially over as you’d have no bench.

Dutcher has often said that managing 13 players is quite difficult unless you have some players that are willing to Red Shirt or if players are willing to accept less PT ( Shay Johnson ) but could be needed if you have injuries / health issues or Foul situations
So major thoughts about the new HS players being added to this season - would guess that Compton would be able to earn the PT - what about the 5 that is being added to the team and Taj - 3/2 player ? Will guys red shirt or be ok playing the amount of limited minutes they might earn .

He pretty much invented one n done, and that was not sustainable? Although he did win a Championship at UK in 2012, it seemed to slowly had a diverse affect in long run? Then again, he may be ahead of the times in this day and age? Find/pay decent walkon/former players that need a job to practice with and just pay the stars more? Apparently there aren't many rules anymore, so who's to say if/what you can do?

Can't even imagine what a bidding war could get to if a number of them are really interested. Not sure how many game-changers are left in the Portal but there has to be some teams with a lot of NIL$ burning a hole in their pockets who are anxious to finish their rosters sooner rather than later.

Patton would be my first choice for the last spot. I think he’d be an upgrade over Saunders. If we land him, I’m thinking Sweet 16 or better.
