There is no rule that prohibits DOJ from doing anything, especially after an indictment has already been issued. They can take further steps within that 60 day window if they choose. Apparently there is a rule, but not a law.
www.snopes.com/news/2022/09/22/doj-dilemma-prosecuting-politicians-before-election/
I would like to point out that whatever the DOJ does, it will be criticized by about one-half the U.S. population. I am being very moderate when I use the term "criticized". Unfortunately, the situation that faces the nation this November is fraught with very real dangers. As much as partisans were upset by losing elections prior to 2016, they eventually dealt with the results. I do not know whether that will be the case this year.
AzWm
It's not even a rule and it doesn't apply to already-indicted crimes.

I’m just excited to see which corrupt old man wins and if he lives long enough to see out his term.

A longs way to go, but it is fun to watch poll movements. Dementia Joe isn’t doing so well. 57% disapprove of his job performance. 67% believe the country is heading in the wrong direction. Joey is trailing in 6 of the 7 battleground states. The betting odds are the most interesting. Orange Man 43.5% Sleepy Joe 28.3% Big Mike 9% Hard to believe there’s even 9 people that would vote for Big Mike. The numbers change daily, for today’s numbers: www.realclearpolitics.com/

The numbers change daily, for today’s numbers: www.realclearpolitics.com/Since no US sportsbooks are allowed to provide odds, it's really not that interesting. Odds have been relatively static for a while. They'll change many, many times though later in the fall. Trump was a massive favorite in 2020 the day before the election and then odds flipped overnight.

CBS News Poll Analysis: Who's voting for Biden, and who's voting for Trump? The Biden Coalition: Blacks, Hispanics, Voters 18-29, Women "A large majority of Black voters says they will vote for Mr. Biden this year. But his current support trails what he got in 2020. The president still has an edge with Hispanic voters now, but his margin over Trump is smaller than it was in 2020." "Fewer of these voters tell us they are definitely going to vote this year compared to White voters, who are more inclined to back Republicans. Lower expressed likelihood of voting among them is one reason Biden is trailing in the polls now." 80 percent of whites say they are going to vote compared to 73 percent of Hispanics and 63 percent of Blacks. "Mr. Biden leads Trump among women in our current polling, but it's a smaller lead compared to 2020." "But women who say the economy is a major factor are backing Trump." "Young voters: Most are backing Biden, but have concerns about his approach to the Israel-Hamas conflict." "This group more than any other age group wants Mr. Biden to encourage Israel to stop its military actions in Gaza." The Trump Coalition: white, old, male, Evangelical with no college degree. www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/cbs-news-poll-analysis-who-s-voting-for-biden-and-who-s-voting-for-trump/ar-BB1jnuus?ocid=msedgntp&pc=HCTS&cvid=8a89daef439c47ee83930a206a1c35f5&ei=63

While voting demographics change with every election, the growth of non-Trump voting Republicans continues to grow state-by-state, while independents continue to lag behind and don't really favor either candidate, based on various exit polling. Sentiment will ebb and flow over the next several months.

Age is the biggest concern for both candidates, for example. Those that are going to vote for Trump (the true MAGA crowd) are still going to vote for him, even if he's on trial during the election. There's a section of the population that still believes the 2020 election was rigged or stolen. Regarding Biden, there's a strong sentiment that the economy isn't doing well...despite mountainous evidence to the contrary. It's a fascinating situation to watch unfold.

It's telling that Trump's biggest support comes from uneducated people.
It's a choice between a man who is too old for the job, or another man who is also too old for the job while also being a dishonest, disloyal, self-serving criminal.
Trump loves Putin. He called Putin a, "Genius," for invading Ukraine. He invited Putin and Russia to invade any NATO country that, "Doesn't pay their bills."
Add that to his incitement to insurrection and all of his major ethical lapses going back decades and you've got someone clearly unfit to be President.
Voting for Trump is deciding to be blind and deaf. See no evil, hear no evil.
God help us if Trump wins.

I’m just excited to see which corrupt old man wins and if he lives long enough to see out his term. Orange Man and Dementia Joe are both to darn old for the presidency, however one of them, if they live passed January will be president. Besides age, Joey’s problem is the economy. For those of us that live in the real world, buy groceries, buy gas, buy clothes, the perception is the economy sucks. Citi's chief US economist said February 15, 2024, “The economic data seems strong but is hinting at signs of a decline, as seen in the latest jobs report. Credit-card delinquency rates are also on the rise, and retail sales data has shown a drop in activity. The US economy is headed for a recession in the middle of 2024.” If that is true and perception isn’t changed Joey gets his butt kicked in November.

Biden will need to drop out because of a health reason this summer. This reminds me of Obama/Romney. Team Blue fans know how to stay together and vote the party line. Fans of Team Red attack each other, fumble around wondering what they’re doing wrong and then are exhausted and take a season off supporting their team.

The same thing has been said for a while, yet the economy continually defies expectations.
