Suarez comes in and it is batting practice. Pads loosing streak extends to 5 in a row.

It was bound to happen with Suarez. We need to score more than 3.

Will be interesting to see if today's mini-meltdown by Suckez is an outlier or the beginning of a regression to the mean for him. Time will tell. Not having been in a game for awhile didn't help - and then Shidt threw him in there for two pitches before sitting in the dugout waiting to come back to pitch the bottom of the ninth inning. And nothing worked. The Phillies were swinging early and hard.
Padres offense is just horrible. There are too many non-contributors to list here. Raking? or Puking…
They will have an opportunity to fly home on a happy plane or an angry one tomorrow It's up to them.

They went single, single, single, ground rule double on a ball that didn't get to the wall. The pitch to Harper was (barely) a ball. The pitch to Scott was (barely) a ball. He missed on location to Castellanos, but it wasn't a 'bad' pitch down and in at 100 mph - caught a little bit too much of the plate, sure. The Phillies came to hit in the bottom of the 9th, and they very much "won" the game. Tatis almost got to Castellanos hit too. Incredibly frustrating game. The Phillies seem to have our number lately.

Meanwhile, the supposedly banged-up Dodgers score 7 runs in the 9th at Colorado to win 11-9. They are light years ahead of us on so many levels.
i think Preller's seat must be warming up just a little. I know it's early but when the team plays the same no matter who or how many managers they have, someone above them HAS to take the fall.

The Padres hit the ball hard right at somebody more often than anybody, it seems. Then again, I only watch the Padres, but dang, it sure seems like it happens A LOT.

Lance Barksdale missed the call that would have ended the game. Next pitch, home run. Welcome to baseball.

Matt Waldron, Ace of the Staff. Not in a million years would anybody have ever thought that. Wow. And, he's doing it against the really good teams as well. Incredible.

What's incredible is just how well he's pitched overall. He's started 15 games so far. 15 games 3.46 ERA and 1.16 Whips Take away three terrible games against the Cardinals, Blue Jays and Diamondbacks and his record is incredible: 12 games 2.02 ERA and 0.96 Whips
