Nice try. You said regular season stats aren't relevant, and then you used regular season stats to predict what will happen in the playoffs, and now you're saying regular season stats don't mean anything in the playoffs. I'm so dizzy from the spin, my head hurts. Sheesh. What the hell are you supposed to use? That's all you have to go off of before the playoffs actually start. Now who is arguing just to argue? Regular season stats IN THE PLAYOFFS mean nothing. BEFORE THE PLAYOFFS START, what else would you use? Move on. Ha!!! Touched a nerve, huh? I don't know, color me bewildered. I hear a guy, you, say that the regular season stats don't mean anything, and at the same time you use them for examples of what's gonna happen in the playoffs. That's the contradictory problem. How about not saying that regular season stats don't mean ANYTHING in the playoffs, but they can be an indicator. Or, just don't say both things, because you come off as hypocritical. That's the first, and only free advice session I'll give you. Next time there'll be a fee.

It's really beyond stupid to have to explain how more than one thing is true at the same time. That's not a contradiction, it's the exact opposite. You take things too literally. It's really not that important. This started with "Ohtani was 5-22" and turned into...whatever the hell is this. I'm good.

I'm good. Uh huh. Ok. No, it started well before you mentioning Ohtani going 5-22. It started when you said before the Playoffs against the Dodgers that Ohtani didn't hit well against us in the regular season, and the bullpen of the Dodgers are crap because of their stats in the regular season, and more. You said that the Dodgers are going to flame out because of that. So yeah, you have words coming out of both sides of your mouth. So there's that. You can't say that regular season stats don't matter, when you said they did before the Playoffs even started. You like to tell people that "The history of what you say is here ya know." That holds true for you, as well.

The Padres are out, so I really could not care less.

There's a lot of variance. I don't care if Ohtani is hitting 5-22 with a sub 800 OPS in a playoff series, I'm throwing lefty after lefty at him, I'm going to do everything in my power to not walk guys in front of him. Saying that he's 5-22 is irrelevant. If he was 0-22, or 3-22, okay there is some statistical credibility that he could be slumping a little bit. Then I would look at his expected BABIP vs actual, etc.

Our local boy Edman has been absolutely on fire. 2-1 Dodgers.

It's a sudden death elimination contest once they get past 162, though, so maybe that special experimental case is a difference maker when it comes to prediction. IDK

Sad to see Josh "Tiny" Naylor's time in the playoffs end. Dude sure lost the "tiny" part of his nickname since he left the Padres

It's not over yet, but if it's going to be NY-LA, I'm going with the Dodgers. The Yankees are my least favorite team. I'll also be pulling for Roberts, from Rancho Buena Vista H.S. and Edman from LA Jolla Country Day H.S.

Credit to Dave Roberts for taking advantage of the biggest collection of talent and exorcizing some demons from his postseason past.

Credit to Dave Roberts for taking advantage of the biggest collection of talent and exorcizing some demons from his postseason past. I'm pretty sure there are people on this board who could manage to make the Playoffs in his shoes with how loaded the Dodgers roster is.

There can be egos to contend with, and other issues, when it comes to the stars on the team. You have to manage that, as well as other issues when you have a loaded team like that. I think Roberts has done a good job of that, and has managed pretty well in the postseason.
