Regardless of outcome tonight, the Padres will be contenders yearly. Long-term process over short-term frustrations. The core is in place, they'll be able to spend money and they have the staff and player development on the upswing. Uh, the "core" right now feels rotten. And it's getting older every year. Nice to be upbeat though, especially having just witnessed this complete failure. This constant failure will remain until we get rid of Preller. |

Of the five teams that have never won a World Series ALL FIVE of them are small or mid market teams. And 4 of those teams don't spend money like the Padres have in recent years. They also aren't drawing 40k plus per game like the Padres are. I don't think it will be too much longer before that list of 5 teams is reduced to 4. Which team do you think will win the WS? Because it ain't gonna be the Pads. The San Diego Curse is eternal. |

I am going to argue right here, that the single greatest achievement (and most difficult) of any San Diego sports team in history...was the Aztecs playing for the National Championship in hoops.

My give a $#!+ about MLB is gone again. Every time I start to think things are getting better I see the big market teams contending yet again, and the Padres ending their season with yet more disappointment. Isn't it shocking that the Dodgers and Yankees are in the two LCS?  |

They didn't lose because of $ they lost because they choked. How else to explain getting shut out the last 24 innings? The Dodger bullpen is good but nowhere near that good. |
