Padres starting to get the measure on Yoshi - and that'll probably mean he's gone if Tatis sees anything hittable.

I'm sure they understand the elimination part of Elimination Game, but we've already seen this particular version of the offense on display on far too many occasions this season.

Profar and Cronenworth are automatic outs. Waste of ABs. I'm surprised Tatis even gets pitched to with Profar behind him - except that he swings at anything.
18 consecutive scoreless innings now. We've seen this crap before, and we know how it all ends.
Pitchers duel doesn't favor S.D.

Padres seem really flat...again. Yamamoto is throwing straight fastballs, not really anything special. Just not making him work at all. You've got to be kidding. All of his pitches are sharp. He saved his splitter for a couple of innings and it's working well, unfortunately. Straight fastballs? Uh, no. They've got movement. Come on now. Let's hope he doesn't have it for this 5th inning, and we can put a couple of runs on the board. |

Let's hope he doesn't have it for this 5th inning, and we can put a couple of runs on the board. We just missed several fastballs in the first few innings. Now he is using his splitter more. Darvish is dealing, it's only a one run game. We just need to manufacture a run. It's not like he's unhittable - just sit on the fastball. *edit* okay nevermind, that's it for him. |

Sure, just like in most games pitchers will miss their spots and the hitters have to take advantage of those, but overall he's keeping them guessing and he's got a lot of movement. His splitter is incredible. Unremarkable? That's not correct. He's been very good. You also said that Darvish isn't sharp, so I won't be listening to your opinion on pitching, that's for sure. |
