Cease is not getting the job done. He needs to go. Now.
He keeps pulling pitches out of his AZZZZZZZZZtecs, but there goes another run.
GTFO.
Oh well, starting him was a poor choice, Shidt. But at least you're not compounding it by letting the game get out of hand.
All the pundits think this pitching staff is incredible. Maybe it was - a few months ago. They're tired, they're getting worked hard, and it's showing now.
Cease was unremarkable tonight. And he was unremarkable in the first game, too. 5 innings 8 ER.
And here come two more runs. FSCK.

When you're on short rest, it's the curve balls that can lose their bite, and also location can be affected. The fastball will still usually be there. Cease was hanging A LOT of curve balls, unfortunately.

We can still win this game, but it was always going to be tough to beat the Doyers three games in a row with that lineup of theirs, especially with Cease going on three days rest.

Profar is 4-20, including today's at bats so far, with 1 RBI at the number 3 position in the order. Not gonna cut it. He's lost some mojo lately. Hopefully he gets it back, and quick like.
