Cease on three days rest tomorrow. Cease once through, Perez once through, then the bullpen? I guess it will depend on how much Cease has in the tank and how he does out there.

Cease on 3 days is a little/lot scary. Maybe pitching by commitee, so to speak, from what I've heard. Short leash.

Yeah, and you got to think that the way the game will be managed, with a short leash and substitutions for navigating the Dodgers top of the order, we might be low on pitchers if it goes into extra innings. Having Wandy and Matsui with very little usage - one of them could give us two innings if needed. Cronenworth was a legit two way prospect for a while as well if it's a 12+ inning game - probably better then whoever the Dodgers put up in that scenario. That could be a reason to save Perez, and not burn him just going through the Dodgers lineup once.

In all seriousness, it will be interesting to see how the arms are managed this game.

Cease will go as long as he's good, they'll likely use a combination of Hoeing/Morejon/Perez to get through the middle frames and then it's all hands on deck with the high leverage arms, depending on the score.

You have: Cease, Hoeing, Perez, Jacob, Morejon, Matsui, Peralta, Scott, Suarez, Estrada and Adam. I'd be far more concerned about the other team running out of arms.

With a chance to finish the series and not put Darvish back into his negative split, Shildt will likely be ultra-aggressive and utilize everyone he can with an off day tomorrow. I think you're underselling not only the depth of the arms, but the ability of half these guys to go multiple innings.

All 3 of those guys could go multiple innings, if necessary. I would say our pitching is in really good shape at the moment.

The Tigers got it done today by pitching by commitee. We're well equipped to do that. I welcome it, if need be.

I plan for tonight's game to be over at the end of 8 and a half.

I want to give big time props to Mike Shildt. The way he let's the players be themselves, and the moves he's been making have been on point. His second half coaching record speaks for itself. I also like the way he's been handling the Media lately with all that's been going on. He's locked in right now, just like the team is. LFGSD!!!

No Freddie Freeloader tonight.
Duncy moves to first, Hernandez slides to third.
Padres lineup remains the same - Peralta will DH.
And Phillies crap out.
LFGSD!

Padres were not able to figure out the Mets this season. 2–5 on the W-L. Padres get the first two games at Petco starting Sunday night after they win one more game against the doyers...
LFGSD!

Pitching behind guys ain't gonna cut it. Constant 2-1 and 3-1 counts are no bueno.

Please only have Cease go once through the Dodgers lineup.
