Manny should get the save. Profar with the hold, and Manny with the save.

Disaster class from Shildt, bailed out by Profar and Manny. The rollercoaster for the ages.

I know Matsui has evolved into a higher leverage guy lately but I was thinking he would pitch the 9th.
De Los Santos has allowed 2 or more ERs 5 times this season so far. The Padres are 5-0 in them. Go figure!

Manny has really turned it around, or picked it up big time. 4 for 5 today with a double and the game winning bomb. He's been hot.

I never thought I'd see the day where Kolek would come in for relief of Suarez and then bail him out. Kolek with the win. Incredible.

Suarez couldn't locate his pitches, but we got bailed out!

Suarez couldn't locate his pitches, but we got bailed out! Kinda happens when you've been used three days in a row after getting four outs with a day game after a night game in the middle of it.

He apparently assured Shidt that he was ready to go if needed. It’s ultimately up to the manager to make that decision, not the player… what player is ever going to say they’re a no-go (besides last year’s closer). So, they both got burned. Just lucky to get bailed out by Profar and Machado. Could’ve easily been a different outcome last night.

You had Peralta get four outs on nine pitches, De Los Santos finishes the inning. Instead of getting Kolek a clean inning, you have De Los Santos sit, then get back up. Then you leave him in to pitch to McCarthy, with another lefty behind him in Thomas. Just bad.

You know it's serious, since he has to forfeit his salary on a pro-rated basis.

Life happens even when you are a Major League Baseball Player… hope it's not serious - serious though. Serious is bad enough.

Dang, I knew YOU were going to come back with that. Friggin A. You're a piece of work. I didn't say he cared about money, or insinuated it. You decided that that's how I meant it. Get a grip bud. It's simply a sign that he really needed the time off. Sheesh. Most of the time you go on that list it's serious.

How much of this year's turnaround with hitters should be attributed to their new coach, Victor Rodriguez? There was a bit of a delay in the offensive machine, but it seemed to kick itself into another gear in June - and now into early July.

SDSUBALL made a good point in saying that it seems as though they're being more aggressive in the count at the plate. Not taking so many pitches. It's working.
