How much of this year's turnaround with hitters should be attributed to their new coach, Victor Rodriguez? There was a bit of a delay in the offensive machine, but it seemed to kick itself into another gear in June - and now into early July. Hard to really quantify. Profar's breakout was nothing you could really forecast, Cronenworth's bounce back I think has a lot to do with the offseason work he put in...but certainly some credit to Victor, despite the groundball rates. They are seeing fastballs much better.

You went nuts over a simple response when your post brought up his salary. I was simply saying that the seriousness of the issue supercedes that.

Japanese outlets are reporting that Yu's brother is battling cancer, and has for some time. Very sad.

A simple response insinuating that I meant that Darvish cared about the money end of it. Yeah, that's pretty horrible on your part. You wouldn't have said what you did if you weren't insinuating that.

There's very limited options available to him and the team, and it sounds like the situation has become bad enough for him to leave the team and travel home.

WAY too many pitches for Waldron in the 2nd, but nice bounce back in the 3rd.

But because we don't have official word from the Darvish family - and why would we - the lines to read between were exactly what you indicated. Something's changed if his brother has been in this condition for awhile, and the situation must now at a place where Yu needs to be with his family. Because his departure didn't happen earlier on, and apparently couldn't wait for the ASG break, we have to make some assumptions about why a change from IL to RL was made today; not before; not sometime in the future. That's all I meant.

Hopefully he's back in the coming weeks.

YOWEEEEEE. Gonna have a nice reminder of that tomorrow morning - and for a few more days, too. Hopefully it won't be some kind of deep bone bruise - though they're calling it an ankle contusion at this point. And that's his landing foot. As was mentioned, there's not much meat in that area - and that ball hit him going 98 MPH. Now Matsui's giving his best impression of how to lose a ball game in 10 pitches or less.

I literally have no idea what goes through the mind of the manager sometimes.

I thought Angel Hernandez retired? What a horrible strike zone. Ha!!! No doubt. And as I'm typing this, he calls another horrible one on Profar. And then Profar promptly rips one down the line for an RBI single!!!
