Good teams pick each other up when there's adversity. That's what's happening on the offensive end.

Had to look up the rationale behind the City Connect unis for Boston. Yellow and blue are the colors of the city of Boston's flag, the sleeve has a Boston Marathon bib with the Boston area code, 617. There's a 49 heart patch to honor Tim Wakefield.
With so many possible Boston connections, these just seem kind of lame. FFS Ted Williams played there. Babe Ruth. Roger Clemens, Tris Speaker, Big Papi. Yaz, Cy Young. And that's just Baseball! Boston's role was front and center for the American Revolution. Yellow and blue? Boston Marathon bib? And people claim the Padres' CC unis are lame.
For the most part, all of these CC unis are forgettable. Just another way to sell more merch.

Manny has still got IT. He seems healthier. That one was absolutely CRUSHED!!! Looked like he hit it completely out of the park. Monstah achievement unlocked. Merrill's HR was no cheapie, either. Dude is on a real roll right now. Too bad ASG is going to get in the way, hopefully the rest won't hurt his timing and eye. Right now, he's locked in.

Incredible. This team is on a serious roll. Yeah, dang All Star Break!!! Although, it will be good to get some guys on the mend.

Fun fact--Shildt, while managing the Cardinals, was 20 games over .500 in the 2nd half in each of the 2 full seasons he was there.

Dudders falling behind Gigantes for the 2nd day in a row. Gigantes scored 4 runs in the bottom of the third. 5-2 in the 4th
Of course I jinxed it by mentioning it and the Dudders took back all 4 runs in the 4th to make it 6-5.
Giants final reliever crapped the mound BIGLY. Funny to watch Melvin squirm like he did last season. Roberts and the Dudders beat him again. 7 runs in the top of the 11th. UGH!

For me it's so easy to root against a city that's won so many World Series, NBA Championships, Super Bowls and Stanley Cups. I hope they never win another one.

They've won eight of their last nine and are no closer to LA than they were last week. At least they're not falling behind. AZ and SF have dropped back 3.5 and 4 games from the Padres. Well, they've picked up two games on the Damn Dodgers finally, in the last 10 games. Should have been more but at least it's two. Nobody really expects us to catch them anyway. i do think the Braves are catchable though for the best Wild Card spot. They don't have much pitching and Acuna is gone or the year.

I dated a woman from the Boston area for eight years and after a while, I found myself even rooting for the damn Yankees.

It was borne out of a terrorist attack in which three people, including a child, died.

Padres bats are being silenced today. And it's not even being done by a LHP.
Winckowski isn't even a regular starter either - they just pulled him back from the minors this week for a spot start. Figures.

No matter what happens today, at least the Pads got over that, "No more than 3 in a row" streak. They've got a 4 and 5 now, hopefully 6 if the bats wake up.

Waldron's pitches weren't as nuanced as usual - maybe the weather. But he only gave up a few runs today. Padres couldn't get to Winckowski besides soft contact. He Pwn3D them.
