Kolek needs to join De los Suckos on the next flight to El Paso. If he can't be successful in this kind of situation, of what use is he in the BP? Meanwhile CJ Abrams is on base again - that's all four times he's been up tonight. Good grief.

Wow!!! GRAND SALAMI FOR PROFAR!!! Oh yeah, he went "FAR"!!! There are not enough superlatives to give out to explain how great of a season Profar is having. Unbelievable. Sooooo happy for him. Some people on here, or maybe just one, said that you can't count on Profar in left field and be a Championship team. I heard the MVP chants. He may not get it, but he's proving people wrong. I always liked his competitiveness. Never count out a guy like that. Tremendous. Well, I certainly didn't have "Profar-career year" on my bingo card, but that is certainly what he is having. As of today, I think the Padres have 2 NL ASG team members--Suarez and Profar. Yeah, not on my bingo card either, but I'm the type of person that will never say never, but that's just me. You can eat your words too many times when you speak as if you know all, and try and state facts without a caveat.

Arraez showing why he's not ever going to be a solution at first base - even if he can hit a ball where he wants. And 1st base is his best field position.
Oh, and CJ Abrams is on base again. Glad they pulled out another one.

Abrams been real good so far this year, Gore's been good most of the time and they haven't even brought up James Woods yet, who's hitting .352 in Triple A or Robert Hassell who's hitting .278 in Double A. And they don't have Soto: .305, 19 HRs and 57 RBI. Or Josh Bell.
They do have one inconsistent #3 starter, one very inconsistent #4 starter and one extremely inconsistent long relief guy in exchange for all those players.

last 2 games are text book examples of what the Padres can do when they motivated to win. its sad that they are barely above .500

Abrams went through a mega slump in May and has stabilized a bit since, Gore has been solid. Is what it is.

1st Grand Slam for Higgy. 6 RBIs today after his 7th and 8th HRs this year. His career high for HR is 10, three times. He's got 7 HRs in June!!!
Never expected this kind of power from him.

Looks like Clowngrove is no better now than he's ever been. 1/3 inning, 4 ER. 12 x 9 is worth a 108 ERA for today's lack of effort. Good thing we don't care about ERA.
Where do the Padres find all of these inept relief pitchers anyway? Comes in with an 8 run lead and still tries to give it away. Moron comes in and simply adds to the asininity. Two games in a row - wide leads turn into save situations because of the crappy Padres BP. They still win, the 9th inning moundcrap by the relief staff notwithstanding.

On the bright side, finding the Slam Diego shirt today worked … the concept has returned big time.
High with 7 HR this month …

I know we played early in Korea but it's kind of absurd how many more games we've played than the other NL teams. After todays's Padre game: 85 games Padres 81 games Dodgers, Brewers 80 games Pirates, Washington, Giants, Reds, Cubs, Miami, Rockies, Phillies 79 games Arizona 78 games St Louis, 77 games Atlanta, Mets

After todays's Padre game: 85 games Padres 81 games Dodgers, Brewers 80 games Pirates, Washington, Giants, Reds, Cubs, Miami, Rockies, Phillies 79 games Arizona 78 games St Louis, 77 games Atlanta, Mets As Ryan pointed out yesterday, that means the most days off in the NL in the 2nd half, which as beat up as this team has been, is going to pay dividends.
