Biden looks very old and frail. Most of the country sees this, many Dems choose to disregard these signs because they simply want to see four more years of the current administration. Biden looks shot and I have to wonder who pulls the strings and sets the agenda if not Sleepy Joe. Falling on the stairs of Air Force One and eating $#it on his bicycle and falling asleep during a memorial service in Maui are INCREDIBLY BAD OPTICS and definitely NOT presidential. The guy should have retired over a decade ago, but his wife’s lust for power keeps him showing up for political events. Trump seems a bit on the stout/overweight side, but he does appear spry and energetic. We have all seen him in action as President and regardless of all the Dem predictions of Military Armageddon and economic disaster he was an effective leader and can handle the job. If not for the fear generated by the pandemic, Trump would have probably won a second term. His worst enemy is his own big mouth. His huge win and high energy campaign in Iowa are definitely positive signs he still has the juice to be president. What in the wide world of hell are you talking about? You are nuttier than he is. Do you feign being clueless? There are dozens of “Biden falling down” videos on social media. There are also dozens of “Biden getting lost on stage” moments. I’m still waiting for the SNL skit. Trump all but ended the Republican primary race with a very convincing win in Iowa. He looks fairly energetic,
A lot of politicians are too old but idiots keep voting for them.
Neither Biden or Trump should be the next President. I’m just waiting for Biden to get the Democrat nomination, become “sick” shortly after and then transfer it over to Newsom.

The only reason he looked "energetic" was because his diaper was full and he needed to get moving to change it!

Realistically, anyone voting for Trump or Biden is also voting for their vice president. I might vote for Williamson in the primary as a protest vote, but realistically it's going to be Trump vs. Biden for the general election.
It would really help Biden if he could negotiate an end to the conflict in Gaza alongside a two-state solution. That would give him some "redemption" to the young progressives, and it would also have general appeal out to independents. Cutting funding to Israel without negotiating an end to the conflict will win the young progressives back, but may alienate some independents/older moderate democrats. The worry for Biden going into the general election has to be low voter turnout, especially among young democrats who are disillusioned by the Gaza war.

Ryan said: Nowhere did I say Trump was Hitler in my response.
Perhaps you have not used the word Hitler. But have said that you are sure that Trump would institute Hitler-like policies should he win a second term.
I am certain that Trump's policies in a second term would be anathema to you. But which of those policies, if instituted by a more traditional GOP POTUS would NOT be anathema to you? What was your opinion of policies under Reagan, Bush I, or Bush II? Did you find ANY policy under those Presidents acceptable? If the answer is "no", then your attacks on Trump's presidency is simply partisan haranguing. I did not say your remarks on Trump the man.
Partisan harangues, of course, are common. Each party is guilty of making them. But loudly proclaiming that electing Trump would be the end of democracy in America is the kind of over-the-top diatribe that is an especially negative part of our political system. Could Trump do damage to America? Yes, he could. But so could Biden.
The foundation of the American political system is much, much too strong, too deeply rooted to be overturned by the executive orders of an out-of-control POTUS.
Proclaiming Trump to be, if not Hitler at least Mussolini, may be a good campaign tactic, but it definitely does not help unite the country.

AzWm Are you even paying attention? Trump already told you himself. He wants the largest mass deportation in the history of this country to take place. You know who else engaged in mass deportations? Yes, Adolf Hitler, September 1941, when over 300,000 German Jews were deported in the midst of the Holocaust. Do you believe the use of the same exact speech lines: "Immigrants are poisoning the blood of our country" as Hitler utilized is an....accident? Coincidence? Yeah, I do not. Do you believe the fervent praising of dictators is an accident? I do not. Putin, Xi, Kim Jong Un, Orban....a whole lot of accidents, certainly. This isn't about "policy" or politics at all, it's about humanity, human decency and the dignity that comes with the office. I'm glad you're normalizing this behavior, it reminds me to not take you seriously at all.

The choice is Biden v. Trump. I'm sure Dementia Joe welcomes your vote.

I'm more concerned about tonight's game. I'll be there as a 22 year season ticket holder.

I'm responding to William's post about Trump's second term with regards to his "policies" after he accused me of falsely posting my own feelings about Trump. Reading helps. I'm sure you believe it's absurd, but alas, it truly isn't. I'm sure Dementia Trump welcomes your vote, too. How original, right? Time to get a new playbook.

I did not deviate from the basic issue of this thread, which is what are the implications of both candidates ages. The hostility toward Trump shown by some is so strong that the thread moved into a discussion of Trump's qualifications to be POTUS.
I am against a Trump presidency, period. I am also against a Biden presidency. Can't make my position any clearer.

AzWm You may be against both, but the bottom line is one will be president. Then the most important question: who will be VP. Word Salad Knee Pads Kammie should scare the hell out of everything that has an IQ above double digits.

AzWm You *did* deviate, from a hollow and disingenuous argument where you claimed one person was certainly too old and the other "probably might be" - Which again, makes zero sense, as one candidate will be even older in their next term than the other was in their initial term. So age is NOT a qualifier? That's equally confusing. Why start the thread in the first place? Don't blame it on hostility towards Trump, blame it on your flimsy premise that falls apart like a house of cards with a simple logical rebuttal.

Gas prices aren't coming down..it's fake news! All you have to know about trump, is listen to the rally the day after he was filmed gingerly walking down the ramp that day..looking like a 90 year old. I watched the rally and couldn't understand why he spent the first 15 minutes assuring the crowd that he "ran" down the ramp!! He repeated it over and over again...until they believed him. I thought it was a joke until I figured out how he was working. I didn't think there was anybody dumb enough to beleive what he was saying. This guy is the shyster of the century, and he's got 25% by the short hairs..and ps...he really could shoot somebody on 5th Avenue and not lose a single one.

For a few weeks, gas prices were actually going down, Our production of petroleum in the United States is actually at an all-time high. However, the recent troubles with the Houthis have made the Red Sea dangerous for commercial cargo vessels and especially oil tankers. They all have to sail around Africa, so that will boost the price back up to familiar Biden Era levels.
Too many global conflicts under the unstable Biden leadership. Shooting $500 drones in Yemen with $2 million tomahawks. Spending billions upon billions on a proxy war vs Russia sacrificing hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian young men and civilians.
The dangerous situation in Gaza will probably expand to conflict with Hezbollah.

Those of us that served in that period I have deep respect. It was a difficult time in southeast Asia and equally difficult returning home. I took a bullet for my country and for an ungrateful generation following. Additionally, I took my beating in Montreal and Toronto last summer from the leftist thugs that follow Fidel’s son. When I posted that here you challenged me without hesitation and without thought. Yes, I’m f’ing old but my mind functions. I sincerely hope you can find a way for yours to function also.
I’m thankful you or my sons had not experienced what your dad and I faced. To be perfectly clear, what we faced were mostly leftist that hated us for doing what we knew was stupid, but we did it because our foolish democrat president said we must. The president, I’ll admit in my lifetime, I disliked or hated would be a more appropriate word, was a democrat. LBJ.
I have vivid memories of that lying POS saying no more American boys would die. Yet I lost more than a dozen very close friends because of a democrat. So do I hold democrats responsible. Hell yes, just like I hold democrats responsible for the cowardly retreat by a f’ing brain dead incompetent democrat president like your boy Joey. Democrats are responsible for death. Then there’s others on both sides pushing for war in Ukraine but none more than Chuckie from New York. It baffles me why you people are so hungry for death and war. Screw Ukraine. Let’s fast forward to now. One of your recent posts criticizing Aztec Musician was, “fantasy” I honestly don’t know what is wrong with you. I have wasted a few brain cells giving it little thought. Few explanations can be derived. You are desperately seeking attention, you have zero awareness of current events, you are nothing more than a low-life troll, and lastly, I don’t want to say this, but just plain stupid. I don’t think for a single heartbeat from someone that’s walked this planet for almost 8 decades you give a squat what anyone thinks if they are not inline with your perverted agenda. So come on Ryan, post you rebuttal. I welcome another chuckle from you silliness. Or better yet, be a man for a change and ignore me.

Just for the sake of clarification, Biden isn't "my guy" - I'd rather see a younger candidate, but the establishment wants what it wants, not what the people need. If it was about the best candidate, we'd be in a better spot, but here we are again. That said, Biden shares culpability with Trump for the Afghanistan withdrawal. Been discussed to death, but it bears repeating - Both men have responsibilities and culpability for the situation. The backroom deal Trump strufk with Pompeo and the Taliban influenced the timeline withdrawal. But in the end, total and complete mission failure, along with military intelligence, to end up in the spot they did. I'm unsure why you think any argument that AM puts forth is genuine. Most of the time, it's completely delusional nonsense. Sorry, but that's just the reality. Bitter, intent on blaming Democrat policies for everything in life, regardless of situational truth. Just search through the history; it's readily obvious and apparent. Just a few examples: Blaming Biden for higher gas prices, blaming Biden for inflation in the United States, blaming Biden for virtually anything under the sun. Doesn't the truth matter? That's all. People are going to believe what they want.
