Just one more reason to hate the MWC. MWC should be locked out of SD. Don't schedule any games MW teams and allow them easy recruiting trips, especially the Mountain schools. I totally agree. |

USC will mot. The PAC could sign a scheduling agreement with the ACC which would take away some limited inventory since the PAC has a 9 game schedule. They could opt for CUSA and Maction. In the end, cooler heads will prevail. The MW will never attract an AAC or other conference team if they are viewed to be hostage takers. The new commissioner was crowing about how Utah, BYU, TCU, and potentially another member benefitted from the MW platform. It’s a great message, especially if you’re looking to attract talent to the MW and to Brand the MW. However that goes out the window with saber rattling and the like. In the end, this will get sorted. And look at it this way, it would cost millions of dollars to run this a PR campaign of this scale and exposure. This is all gratis to State. |

Sounds like this letter was just SDSU trying to get some info and the MWC miss read it and took it the wrong way and freaked out.

You would have thought that we'd get a response inSTANtly, yes/ Not again! I just cant STANd to go through this again. Sorry I couldn't resist but I am just so pumped. I just got back from the OC and day one of Cali Live. I have literally never seen so many college coaches in one spot for a couple of games ever. It was the who of who in college basketball. Even Coach Dutch and Atker were there. Along with coaches from Kansas, AZ, Gonzaga, fUUCLA, Pepperdine, Texas, Etc. There was an entire section for the coaches. Typically, they might sit behind a basket or in a small area in one section of the arena. There were literally a 100+ coaches that I counted. Most were there to see a big kind from some high school I was not familiar with. Next weekend is Section 7 and I am told to expect even more than what we saw today. Our new college recruiting competition was there with Arizona, CAL and I saw Washington State. I didn't see UW or either Oregon school nor did I see AZ State. |

Doesn’t appear to me that JD is really worried about what’s ahead! This has been an exciting day. Any publicity is good publicity. It would cost the Univ millions for this type of publicity. Hard to believe there’s anything but a happy ending to all this.

Writing today is about clickbait. It will get people to read or listen. For the record, nothing he's writing is untrue. This whole PAC12 vs BIG 12 vs MWC has been a complete and utter Clusterf**k since UCLA AND USC left. I don't trust anyone to do anything until something is signed.
He's a basketball writer, I don't blame him if he would prefer to play in a great basketball conference.
I will continue to enjoy his columns on the Aztecs, Soccer and the Olympics.

He's much more objective about the hopeful P5 transition. He's not a SDSU honk. He's a writer. He's complimentary about the BB program but realistic about potential pitfalls in all of this mess and San Diego sports in general. |
