Obviously glad we’re the number one choice, but not taking Boise and Fresno is a continuation of PAC dumbness. And almost everyone was shitting on me for suggesting UC Davis with SDSU/Rice/SMU... If… a big if… UCD wanted to move up and really invest in their program they would be a great fit for the PAC going forward…

If… a big if… UCD wanted to move up and really invest in their program they would be a great fit for the PAC going forward… Yes maybe in about 20 years Not even. I went to school there like I think someone else mentioned. This is not a football school nor will the student population support it. Also, you have Sacramento over the causeway and they are not Davis supporters. You have Vacaville, Dixon, Fairfield the other way who are not Davis supporters. Davis itself is a small city with a huge spread out campus. Back in the day, the only game that really got fan support was the Causeway Classic. Now it has been a 100 years since I attended a football game there, but this is never going to be PAC level. There is just no support and the surrounding farm areas just are not gonna cut it. Please stop with the UCD idea, as it just isn't going to happen.

I don't believe that at all Same! Right now the B10 owns So-Cal, and having a program in So-Cal is still attractive to the B12. It's finding a 2nd program to pair with SDSU, and the fact they're already growing by 8 programs over 2 years that stalled expanding further.

1 person truly killed the P12, and that's Folt of USC who blocked expansion which would have killed the Big12 all while at the same time was talking to the Big10. Water under the bridge at this point, but this article does a great job of summing up everything about the P12's downfall. The only part I question is it says UW was the driving force on black Friday, not UO, as others have stated. Surprised to see Uncle Phil was excited by the Apple offer. But do find it ironic that previously Oregon said they'd never play in a conference where UCLA gets a lot more money than them, yet that's what they ended up doing. www.latimes.com/sports/story/2023-08-16/pac-12-collapse-decisions-realignment-ucla-oregon

We need to make are own destiny. Are you suggesting that we drop athletics or that we need to go independent in all sports?...because outside of those two options there is NO way control anything...anything that involves a conference and/or media is totally out of our individual control... ...but you already know that

'As one administrator in favor of the move said, "I have to always be thinking, 'How do I get f---ed?' You don't want to end up like Oregon State and Washington State." Another source put it this way: "We're at a point because of all these other moves on the chessboard that the consequences and risks of doing nothing start to seem worse than the consequences and risks of doing something."'

When Yormark says he's done expanding, he's speaking in the moment. How many times over the past 13 months have sources backtracked from previous statements?
There are now at least a half dozen schools in the Big 12 who want a football presence in this state. Once it has digested its new acquisitions (give that about a year, I'd say), and once TV money for the SoCal market becomes available (it will), talks between Yormark and SDSU will heat up again.

We need to make areour own destiny. We already did. Wow...I missed that press release... Did we drop athletics or did we go independent for all sports? Once again...San Diego State never has had nor will it ever have control its own destiny in any area that concerns conferences and/or media...

No problem at all.

Come on, where is Carl Weathers (or name any prominent SDSU alum) when you need him/her?

I'm not sure how you get anyone excited about rebuilding the PAC12 when current teams are still trying to do everything they can do bail.

I'm also disappointed that Summer Altice doesn't get more mentions in topics like this
