I think with the being the big dance, we don't get local radio for these games. I know Ted has a reaction from all of us but he has been Mr. Aztec for decades and I would love to hear him after the win yesterday. I was bummed when I could not jump on local radio to hear him. It would have been fun to hear him ramble and have conversations with the coaches and players who he has relationships with.

He was very excited and made a "good" call. He said "Good" 4 times when it went in. He did get players mixed up however on the last rebound. He twice said it was AG instead of Nate. He's an icon but it's time to go and what a way to end it.

He was much better calling Padres games with Jerry Coleman.

Here is a good comparison of 4 different calls of that last play. Unfortunately Uncle Ted’s is the worst. He gets the players mixed up and barely even described what happened for the audience.

while AG did not get the rebound AG did make the incredible block that enabled Nathan to get the rebound
maybe it could be a great time for Ted to retire on such a great moment

Either way, they're still playing on Monday.

A solution is go to goaztecs.com and men's basketball page. Then go to schedule and the Uconn game. Then click on listen. The next screen will give fans three options and the choice is listen on the web. As for the post game on 760, they were obligated to broadcast the Miami-Uconn game. I prefer Ted Leitner over the national media broadcast. GO AZTECS.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion…
Mine is that I hope that Ted stays as long as he wants and only leaves on his own terms…regardless of whether or not he can see whether it was AG or Nathan who actually got the rebound…we knew that the Aztecs had the ball and that Lamont made the shot in the end…
I’m very happy that we have Uncle Teddy as our play-by-play guy…

I love Ted's play by play. I don't get the negativity.
He doesn't sound like anyone else. He's got his own style and has a great on air personality.
I love his work. Always have.

Think many of the comments are that the game is too fast for him to call - misses some plays or who made them
Maybe getting to the Champs game would be a great time to bow out gracefully

I remember moving to Daygo and seeing Uncle Teddy on t.v. the first time and thinking who is this kook? I was young. As the years went by he grew on me. After seeing heartache after heartache for our city, I slowly learned what it is to be a fan of San Diego sports; and Uncle Teddy was right there with me lending a voice to what I was feeling inside. Over time (and with age) I remember musing to myself that if I felt this depressed over all the times our city blew it, then how must Ted feel? Here is a man much closer to all these teams then I will ever be, a man whose literal job (not some side passion like I have) is to live and breathe San Diego sports. Ted Leitner is the epitome of a San Diego Fan, period. Like his style or not, he is us. He is our guy. Maybe it's an age thing, maybe kids these days look at him the way I first did and think what a kook, but he is uniquely ours and a treasure to those of us who have been with him all these years. Uncle Teddy is San Diego, and in my opinion should be valued as such. He deserves the right to retire on his terms. If the next game is his final broadcast, I hope he goes out calling the biggest win in the history of the city. Love for Uncle T.

His style just doesn’t work for basketball radio play by play. The game is fast and you need to keep up. You can’t see the action like TV so you need a more descriptive play by play. He calls the game like you can see the action.

His regression as he has aged very much reminds me of Joe Starkey and Cal football. A legendary, mostly beloved announcer who stayed a bit too long. He got frustrating too. But there was still something special to turn on the radio at a Cal Fb game or while driving in the car on a beautiful fall Saturday in the Bay Area and hear his voice. Similar to Ted IMO.
This past season was Starkey’s last doing Cal FB. It was time. He will be missed

To me, Ted seems to find a way to make himself the story far too often during a broadcast. Some people like that, I can’t stand it. Larry king was famous for his interview skills whereas he tried to avoid the words “I, me, and my” in an attempt to not be the focus of the interview. Ted’s broadcasts seem to be about Ted as he uses “I, me and my” with regularity. I don’t turn on the game to learn about Ted’s life or points of view, I turn on the game to hear the game. I understand that styles are different and some people enjoy hearing about other things during the game. Bill Walton fans are of this style. I’m more of the Vin Scully, Nick Nixon type. Paint the picture with your words and allow me to imagine the game being broadcast.
