Excellent point...I saw that on the replay of our final possession...without that, who knows? I know, we lose without that block. Yep. Arop is almost as responsible for the win as Butler was. Then again, almost everyone on the team was responsible for that win. That was a TEAM victory, punctuated by a great block, a great rebound, the outlet pass to the right guy, and a great final shot. Yep. Team win. |

That's incredible if you think about. No lead at all in the second half, and then the dagger. I'm glad the roles weren't reversed, because that's gotta be hard to take. FAU controlled the action for just about the whole game, but not when it mattered most!!! And they have a very quality coach, with impeccable "gentlemanly" attributes. Total class act. Though I'm sure heartsick after that loss, he gave full credit to State, saying "They won". No excuses, no bitterness, no, "buts, or ifs". Much of the FAU team has eligibility left. They can potentially make another deep run next year. And I hope they do (except if they encounter the Aztecs). It was heartbreaking loss for them and they played good enough to get a win. Go Aztecs! |

It's incredible we still won after missing all those free throws. That's not the norm. Those misses are usually the reason why you lost the game. Unbelievable. I think the misses played a role in our win. At the end of the game, we were getting the rebound off our missed FTs providing extra opportunities for 2 points. FAU should have made adjustments. The FT team should not be able to pull in the rebounds. The poor blocking out by FAU on those FTs assisted in our comeback. |

Wow. Butler sure was close to that line - but stayed in by about a half inch! It all fell into place at the end. Hard work creates good luck.  |

Bradley got at least 2 critical offensive boards at the end...including one of a free throw. |

That's 4 extra possessions that wear on the other teams legs which impacts their offense. However, sometimes the Aztec player missed the previous FT in a 2 shot situation...I think that happened twice. So that's the two points that didn't need to be scored at the end |

I can picture a few in the gym as the second game played on. They all talked liked they're going to be back in the Final Four as Owls and they're going back to work ASAP That's what obsessive winners like Kobe do. That coach set a great foundation for life for these kids no matter what it is |

I live in Phoenix I've never heard an interview when the interviewers after the call said they're going to find the player's jersey and buy it. They gave the producer props on air for finding Arop. The guys were just gushing about becoming fans of this great young man who lived adversity his early life to work himself into a key player for a team at the peak of amateur basketball. They kept going on about how kids like Arop are what college athletics and the NCAA tournament is about after the interview |
