LEDEE was interviewed after the game and he had a small cut and welt on his forehead. LEDEE had great slams and blocks and MENSHA protected the rim at all costs without getting in foul trouble. It was a very physical game and we won the Bully Ball game over the SEC! No more "they're physical for a MWC team sentiment from national media."

What I like: Oldie finding and posting all these videos.
What I don't like: having this conquest called an "upset." This was no upset on the court.

Win Sunday, we cut down nets for a Regional Championship. Did we still get screwed being shipped East? 😝 Asking for a friend. 😉 I was always glad they went where they did. SDSU was the highest #5 seed thus they got to play the lowest #12 mid major C of C in the south. I was saying that if they had been out west, ended up in Vegas and all things came out the same, a lot more Aztec fans would have taken over the T-Mobile & Vegas and been able to watch them in person, including me. Fingers cross we can make it to Houston. Tell your friend to hold off on buying the Elite 8 shirts already out, wait for the Final 4 or Championship shirts. Less than 10 minutes after the game ended, my wife said she received an advertisement on social media for Elite Eight t-shirts.

Losing the Arkansas game made this team much better at the end.

Love KJ giving Glory To God!!! Not finished yet!!! Many of these guys and their parents have very strong faith and belief and commitment to God. I met several parents this season in Maui and at the MWCT - every single one… Lamont’s, KJ’s, Ledee’s, Trammel’s - all talk prominently about how blessed they all are and how much they and their sons embrace God. IMO… It’s a big part of why these players are of such high character, become such great, unselfish teammates … and are, really, just as impressive off the court as on … maybe even more so. For me, it makes my enjoyment, passion, and support of this program even more meaningful. You never see our kids with any problems, issues or in trouble. No gun stuff, bad behavior, arrogance, social media negativity, etc. It’s really a part of what makes this program special having such amazing kids who turn into amazing young men by the time they graduate. Kudos to Coaches Fisher and Dutcher for recruiting only top notch, high character players.

Sounds like their commitment in all aspects of life are on point for all of them. Yes, glory to God.

This might be my favorite sports writing from the game. It's from "The Athletic": "The Tide rolled out of the NCAA Tournament, courtesy of a 71-64 lunch-money-stealing butt-whupping. Call it whatever you want. This much is clear. Alabama did not lose. It got beat. Bullied, really — pushed around, poked, blocked and out-hustled. The Aztecs’ physicality turned a team that is stocked with NBA talent, that has played with an air of defiance that could border on arrogance, and steamrolled through a first weekend of an NCAA Tournament otherwise rife with upsets, into a bunch of whiners. On every San Diego State block — and there were eight of them — they begged for a whistle. On every turnover, they put their arms out plaintively, wondering where the call was. “I don’t know if we were in their heads, exactly,’’ Aztecs senior Aguek Arop says, “but you can tell we were bothering them.’’ Read that as well. Phenomenal to be getting covered in The Athletic. When I read this line … “The Tide rolled out of the NCAA Tournament, courtesy of a 71-64 lunch-money-stealing butt-whupping.” … I thought, “oh, I’m stealing and using THAT line”. Great stuff.

I was laughing watching the tide complain about every call. I was like you need to spend a season in the MWC to see s#!++y officiating. I think their coach would have an aneurysm dealing with mwc refs.

I'm going to be so mad tomorrow morning when I wake up and find it's Friday morning and haven't played the Sweet Sixteen game yet. WOW!!! I woke up today and it really is Saturday. We did play last night and won. I double checked the UT and other national news outlets. It's true, it's true!!!

I second this and double-down for r/cfb. We need more Aztecs on there. Sometimes it seems like it's all SEC and B1G fans.

But we will not be able to recruit better quality individuals than we have been recruiting for years now. I'm prouder of that than even yesterday's victory over Alabama.

I cried after the game, not because the Aztecs won, but because what these kids represent for the university. Wonderful young men, playing FOR each other. Most talented? Maybe not. Best character? Absolutely.

In another thread I've already admitted to getting a little misty at the end of that game. And that's all I'm going to admit in a public forum. I've also ready said that I'm prouder of the quality of our Aztecs than I am of yesterday's game.
It's players like we consistently get the make me so proud to be an Aztec.
