The national exposure, vs #1 tournament seed, many not giving them a chance, potential conference expansion talk, win and have legit chance at FF…..etc…
Not sure there’s been a more important game in the programs history…..I can’t think of one.

We have a chance to get to the Elite 8. It's pretty darn important.

Sure if we win. If we don’t then it wasn’t any bigger than our last 2 sweet 16 games. But if we win it would the biggest moment in the school’s athletic history.

Have we ever played Alabama in any major sport previously?

I think it has to be. If we win it takes us to our first Elite 8. It’s our most important game, until the next one comes along- could be later this month or in a few years.

Yes, the biggest game since the tournament game vs UConn and Kemba Walker.

Yes, the biggest game since the tournament game vs UConn and Kemba Walker. Why do you have this over the X team versus Arizona? Is it because you viewed the team potential of Kahwi team higher than the X team? in my view the 3 S16 games are tied even though I also believe the Kawhi team had better odds of going all the way to NC than the X team. I was thinking it unlikely we were going to beat Arizona. The Kawhi team I never thought would lose (including the 3 games they lost). I personally have slightly more hope for this team to win than I did for the X team to win versus Arizona. It is because my view of Alabama is not as high as many of the pundits. go aztecs!

It will be the biggest game in program history, unless we win and then the game in the Elite 8 will be the biggest game in program history, unless we win and then...well you get the picture.

Maybe the biggest game in Basketball although the win over Kansas was really big. But in sports history believe it or not it maybe the football game between North Dakota State during the Coryell years at Balboa stadium. That was a complete sell out with fans even having to set in the aisles. If it wasn't the blow out it was 26-0 the push to move up in sports may have never happened.

Has the men's basketball team ever played the #1 team in the country before? Dec 30, 1980, we played No. 1 DePaul in a tournament at the Sports Arena, lost 85-69. I can't put this upcoming match above prior Sweet 16 games, but I will if we win!

Didn't we play North Carolina at the Sports Arena around 1991 when they were ranked #1? I think our team was led by Mitch McMullen and we lost like 90-80 IIRCC.

I don't think this game is any bigger than the other sweet 16 games we went to. But if we win it will be the biggest win in school history IMO

Has the men's basketball team ever played the #1 team in the country before? Questions like this is why I have always bought the media guides. Now they're available on line.
DePaul in December 1980. Lost 69-85. Duke December2001. Lost 79-92. Arizona in December 2002. Lost 81-89.

That 1988 sold out game at the Sports Arena against Dean Smith coached North Carolina drew 13,106 an all-time SDSU home attendance record. I was at that game and remembered that the fire marshall closed the entrance gates without all fans with tickets being let in. I was a SDSU student from 1986-1990.
