He also has limitations because he can't shoot, can't penetrate, can't guard his opponent, is careless with the ball and usually misses the first of his 2 free throws off the front of the rim. Otherwise, he's just fine... So Maldonado scores three points last night because he never had a chance to shoot. Who do you think was guarding him most of the time? On turnovers, of the seven players who average over 20 minutes, only one has fewer turnovers than KJ. Most have a lot more. Remember that Kawhi couldn't shoot when he left here, either. If your talking about KJ it may have something to do with the fact that he is not really part of the offense, about the only thing he does is run around outside the arc looking for a pick an roll for an Alley-oop's (yes, Alley-oop's)

I believe Butler had a lot to do with Maldonado's 3. Correct. Butler was assigned to Maldonado most of the game. From Zeigler: Defensive Player of the Year: Lamont Butler, SDSU. Teammate Nathan Mensah won this last year for his prowess inside, and Butler was similarly dominant on the perimeter. He proved it again Saturday, holding Maldonado to three points on 1 of 11 shooting.
