I tried to watch Trammell all night at the game and he was just terrible. You can't hide him on defense, either anybody is tall enough to shoot over him or they ISO him and take him down low. He lost his man on switches and slap-fouled trying to steal the ball.
His shooting was once again, awful, 1-6. Twice he drove into guys under the basket and had to attempt impossible shots because he's so small. His "lob" attempts were way off too. He had as many TOs as assists, 2.
Other than that 8 minutes stretch against New Mexico where he hit 4 3's, he's been really bad for a long time now. I hope he moves on next year but I'm afraid he won't.

While other schools fans celebrate a regular season win over SDSU with a court storm. SDSU fans saves the court storming for clinching basketball championships.

Wyoming is a good team having a bad year. Maldanado is incredible and the head coach of Wyoming is very good. Ike would've made it a different game - at least much closer. He can dominate the glass. Mensah, Arop, and LeDee would've had their hands full if he'd been in there and on his game. With him out, Maldonaldo is really all they got. Had to be a tough year for him as well. It sure was a tough night for him tonight.

Good solid win. It was a great atmosphere at Viejas tonight ( although I don't understand the 35 % or so of fans who leave early on a non work night ?) . Congratulations and hopefully the beginning of a long run in the tourneys.

Would really like to see KJ and LeDee come back next year, not really seeing anything that Trammell would add to next years team. The Aztecs need to stop with the 5"7" point guards. Right now they have 5 open scholarships and and 2 committed/signed high school recruits (Davis and Heid). They also have 3 Seniors able to come back for their Super Senior year (Kj, LeDee and Trammell) meaning they could have 8 open scholarships. This could be a really solid team again next year if the core of main players return along with a couple solid Portal guys and some promising looking high school recruits (fingers crossed on Brady Dunlap*) Go Aztecs! 247sports.com/player/brady-dunlap-46111896/

Sure looks like KJ is thinking it's his last year (just saying) He would be crazy to pass up another year in college basketball with the way his game is right now. Before the game I had the opportunity to speak with Keshad's mother, dad and brother who all came down from Oakland for Senior night. I told her it would be nice if KJ would come back for another year. She told me that, "Where ever he goes he will have a good year." I mentioned that a lot of former Aztecs play overseas, and that J. FRANKLIN has made millions in China. She told me that KJ has seen Franklin in Las Vegas and that he has a "Mansion in the hills." Well Aztec Mesa I'm not NOSTRADAMUS, but after that short conversation I predict that KJ will be playing over seas next year, especially after he participated in the Senior ceremony. I also spoke to Uncle Teddy Leitner at great lengths, he said he WILL be coming back next year for both FB & BB, even with his bad eyes.

I wasn't able to view the game last night but I respect your observations.....I don't hope Trammell moves on. I believe his role is as a 6th or 7th man providing instant energy and offense off the bench....He's clearly NOT a point guard and his size was exposed on defense much of the year.... IMO....Ledee and Mensah were distinct offensive advantages for us all year and part of a point guards role is to identify those assets and leverage them to the tilt. (which wasn't done) If he's not willing to buy into a role off the bench then moving on may be best...though, I hope he returns!

I AGREE 110% with everything you said. He's the worst player in the 9 man roation. Would LOVE to see him xfer out to the WAC and open up a scholly for a 6' 3" guard with good handles and a good shot. I thought Gomez was bad. I also thought Pulliam was bad and just dribbled the ball for 20 seconds per possession outside the 3 pt arc. But Trammel is worse!

New Mexico level, and higher, guards are what's coming. Just please, please, no replay of Gomez switching over to Boeheim again!!

Go ahead and LYAO when guards torch him in MM or when he shoots 1-8 or has TOs or misses FTs during crunch time. I can actually feel two things at once: beautifully elated that the Aztecs won the conference and still have a very valid worry that DT will undermine our MM experience.

I would suggest to him to go overseas as well if he wants to go professional. Otoh, 1 more year for ledee would do wonders for him. He would no longer be in the shadows of Mensah and Johnson. I think he would dominate the mwc. He has a really nice touch around the rim. I feel bad for trammel. He is definitely has limitations because of his height and he can’t jump like mac mcclong to make up the difference.
