Holy crap...no, he didn't. The situations are NOTHING alike. The similarities end at "documents." One is a crime, the other is not. You're spreading misinformation. Oh my gosh, I'm saying they both had Documents at their houses. That's it. Sheesh. You always run with it. Again, sheesh. Do you not see the gigantic issue with a blanket statement like that?

The National Classified Documents that were found in residence, etc.... Trump had the same issue. Well it's not the same issue because Biden is still in office, and Trump isn't... Trump took documents with him on his way out of office. Biden had documents in his house, found them and gave them back. A warrant was required to regain Trump's documents. What Biden did was stupid, what Trump did was illegal... I'm only talking about ammunition for the debate table.

Is Trump in your head that bad??!! This thread is about DeSantis running, which directly conflates with Trump running and directly relates to the incumbent who is already in office. DeSantis is the odds on favorite to win the GOP nomination right now, but if you don't think Trump or Biden are going to be involved in that process? What does "ammunition for a debate" mean? Outright fabrications? It's completely irresponsible and outright false to say they had the "same issue." It's not the same issue.

Yeah, but saying both had documents at their houses is misleading and a distortion. Every detail about these cases is different other than documents. What kind of documents were they? Trump had ultra sensitive documents, Biden had memos about cabinet meetings. Trump took documents on the way out of the White House, knowing that he shouldn't, while Biden's people just never returned the documents at his residence - that got there while still in office - as a simple oversight, and Biden immediately advised NARA and turned them over the next day, voluntarily. Trump had to be asked 3 times, and THEN a subpoena issued, and then a search was made to collect them when he refused to turn them over each time. Totally different scenarios. It's like saying they both breathe air. Trump breathes in and expels a lot more as an idiotic, narcisisstic, megalomaniacal blowhard - but they both breathe air!

And I would never vote for DeSantis. The guy is a megalomaniac like Trump, just not as incompetent.

They did have the same issue of having being caught with Documents at their residences. Not too hard to follow here, I would hope.

Excellent effort here, but DeSantis winning the election hinges on many things, including whether or not Trump runs for reelection. Basic political landscape fact. DeSantis isn't universally loved in his own party (by the people that matter) and Trump still holds a massive amount of influence with the polarized right and is in pocket with the new Speaker of the House. Those things matter when it comes to an election. And no, you're still wrong because you refuse to critically think. While it's true that some documents of national intelligence were found in Biden's residence, the actual factors that matter are: What documents? What classification level? How many? Did he voluntarily return them? Did he obstruct justice? Were the documents subpoenaed? Absolutely nobody with any ability to analyze a situation is going to think "Well, Biden got caught hoarding documents, so that means Trump can't be indicted for hoarding his documents." Biden was not "caught" with anything. It's a false equivalence and you know that.

Regardless, I still think a Republican victory in the presidency is dependent upon how the candidate handles Roe v Wade and the balance in the Supreme Court. In fact, part of me thinks that Biden hasn't pushed for change in the Supreme Court for this very reason. If he 'fixed' the Supreme Court by electing 4 new justices, maybe voters don't care as much about re-electing him versus a Republican.

No I do not think DeSantis can win a general election...reason being is he first has to get the nomination...unless Trump is arrested and convicted before the campaign season...he and DeSantis will have to duke it out...anything Trump touches...dies...therefore, there will be a rift because he has fervent supporters that will vote for no one else but him...DeSantis doesn't have that nation-wide charisma...second...the issues the OP mentioned as pluses...are really just perception...crime in up in FL...as a matter of fact...the economy is doing well by any standard other than what the right-wing chatterheads spew...despite what they say...the American economy is humming along nicely...and lastly...the border...DeSantis' stunt of shipping immigrants to the North didn't go well with anyone other than racist/bigot zealots. The most important thing is this...Biden's approval rating is at 50 percent (pg 120)...42 percent of whites approve of the job he's doing...even Rassmussen has him at 47 percent approval...whites are all the 95 percent white GOP has voting for them...that 8 percent of whites he doesn't have is more than made up by Blacks, Hispanics and Asians...it's tough to beat a popular president whose approval rating is above 45 percent..... docs.cdn.yougov.com/6ig3yyjvb9/econTabReport.pdf (pg 120) www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/latest_polls/

Also, the number of True Believers are going down as a fraction of the electorate. So reason can prevail regardless of what the major media hopes for. www.politicscentral.org/once-again-independent-voters-outnumber-democrats-or-republicans/ Remember, voters mostly vote for the candidate they think can win the election even though they are not especially turned on by the candidate (Evidence Sleepy Joe getting the most votes ever ). When GOP voters get to pick who has the best chance to win in 2024, DeSantis will be very formidable. And if he wins the GOP nomination, he will likely win the Presidency.
