Thought he was at the Torrey Pines T this past December - not sure who may have seen him play .
Comments that he is a young raw player still learning how to use his height . UCLA did contact him and knows that he would need at least 2 or 3 years to be able to play in the PAC . As the article says he plays on the local AAU team also .

Incredible timing as a shot blocker, plus obvious length. IMO his motor is very low, and he needs to mature considerably. His coach was constantly pleading with him to give more effort. I do know the coaches like his upside, and are giving him special attention.

Not knowing the guy, so obviously don't know this to be true, but seems like a guy who doesn't love hoops but being 7' feels he has to play it. We'll see. Guys change.

I read a stat a few years back that for the average American male, the odds of playing in the NBA are well over a million-to-one. For males over 7-feet, they're about 1-in-6. Pretty crazy when you think about it.

wonder what the actual report will be from the NBA camp that he attends
could be a guy that may also attend a prep school for an additional year of HS

Not sure how long a 16 year old 7'1" player can be under the radar.

Not sure how long a 16 year old 7'1" player can be under the radar. He won't be for long/arguably already isn't. Should be our top recruiting priority now that 2022-23 is basically locked up.

As noted he was at the TP Basketball HS T this past December - numerous coaches were there
He could attend AAU events this summer .
When he graduates from his regular HS June 2023 he will only be 17 - will he go to a Prep School
TCU has already asked him to come for a visit
Kansas , Kentucky , UCLA have also established contact information
Dutcher posed for the picture - so maybe he knows about him also

Dutcher posed for the picture - so maybe he knows about him also Yes, Dutcher going to visit in-person would indeed indicate he knows who the player is and is showing interest. Evans is far enough under the radar at the moment and has a small enough social media footprint that no one knows his full contact/offer list.

Evans is far enough under the radar at the moment and has a small enough social media footprint that no one knows his full contact/offer list. Here's the original thread. aztecmesa.proboards.com/thread/65088/7-center-dennis-evans-interest Some of the big boys have him on the radar as well and that was from Christmas of last year. 247 Sports: 247sports.com/LongFormArticle/Torrey-Pines-Holiday-Classic-Miles-Byrd-Dennies-Evans-Zoom-Diallo-Jase-Richardson-Jeremiah-Cherry-Styles-Phipps-179215682/#179215682_2 "...Still raw and slow in his movements, Evans remains alert in challenging everything that comes his way and securing every ball in his area. Both areas are ahead of his offense, especially in the shot-blocking department, but the southpaw showed nice form on his shot and a developing touch that will be impossible to cover in a few years. What is alarming is how there is hardly any substance when it comes to his recruitment. When looking at him as a prospect, he immediately looks the part as a big man who cannot stop the high major coaches from blowing his phone line. Kansas, San Diego State, and USC have been in to watch him workout but UC-Riverside is the only program to extend an offer to this point. Kentucky and Minnesota have also shown some interest and TCU has attempted at trying to bring the footer to Fort Worth for a visit but the big man is still without a high major offer at the moment. This all should change soon though because Evans brings a tremendous amount of value as a potential defensive anchor at the high major level. He is vocal and has a feel for what needs to be accomplished on both ends of the floor. Overall, he must continue to improve on changing ends with more fluidity but he has enough of what is needed to be a solid contributor for a high major program...."
