Thank heavens for Jurickson Profar to counter the rally killing double plays.

It's only bad optics because he slipped in front of cameras and the media is that desperate to talk about Tatis. Which is why I said the stupidest part was that it was televised … of course, it was always going to be televised, tweeted, instagrammed, telegrammed, etc. The cameras are always on. That's just how things have always worked … at least over the past 100 years or so. Gotta wonder what happened in the earliest Doubledays. I guess "tongues were wagging" back then. LOL

LOL Yeah, Melvin seems to be pretty darn ambivalent on this. "I've talked to him a little bit about it." Of course he did. It was a very bad look, just like Melvin said. He doesn't like it. You can tell, contrary to what someone else may TRY and spin. Hopefully, Tatis learned his lesson.

It's no surprise that you continue to be a "company guy" even though you don't work for them. Anything outside of Hosmer, you'll defend to your detriment. I'm moving on, since your feedback on these types of issues are so tainted. So because I don't subscribe to your nonsense about Tatis (that has no bearing on the situation or reality)....that's tainted? Come on. It's not about Hosmer, it's about the clubhouse. ALL I'm saying is that you can't bring up this point without giving any credibility to the other point. It's MUCH more than that. I don't have to explain. Plenty of others have called you out on it before. Nothing new.

Thank goodness for Hosmer, Machado and Profar on the offensive end. Not much production elsewhere. Pitching has been incredible.

Switching topics. Pham wants to fight anybody on the Padres who has a problem with him saying that Voit"s slide yesterday was dirty. I know he's a hot head, but chill out Pham. He still must have a grudge against the Padres for not re signing him. The Reds Manager is giving Voit the benefit of the doubt on why his hands and arm nailed Stephenson's head, but some Reds players are not. Hopefully, no head hunting today by the Reds. It didn't look good the way Voit's arm comes down on his head, but I think he was just trying to reach the plate, I don't know. I wonder if Pham still wants to come back to San Diego in 2023? Personally, I don't want to see him in brown and gold ever again. And with all the crap being yelled at him during this series, that sentiment is probably pretty much unanimous.

If Hosmer can stay hot all year, offensively, I wouldn't be opposed to keeping him.
I mean, if we're looking at a serious downgrade, offensively, then getting rif of him would hurt more than it helps. Unless we've got a sure thing ready to go at first.

Thank goodness for Hosmer, Machado and Profar on the offensive end. Not much production elsewhere. Pitching has been incredible. Hosmer rounding into midseason form. I give you the 1st inning, 2 on and 1 out, and...a 4/6/3 DP. In the 4th inning, 2 on and 0 out, and...a 3/6/1 DP. Fortunately, Profar completed his all-worldly 4th inning by homering as the next batter, scoring Machado ahead of him.

I'm hoping he can help us as much as he can, obviously, while he's here. Hopefully, he can have a good year for us. One bad game so far, although he did get a hit.

Pham's an immature hothead.
I finally got to see the slide, and when you look at all the angles you can see Voit's reflexively pulling his arms down to protect himself. If he didn't, Stephenson's head/helmet would have clocked Voit in the face, probably breaking his jaw. Voit pulls his arm inward, too, at the last split second to protect his ribs along with his face.
I would have done the same thing.
It's not Voit's fault that the throw put Stephenson in harm's way.

He had a bad attitude down the stretch in August and was already talking about the offseason beginning of September. Dude's toxic.

We said this about Pham all last season. Well, some of us did… good riddance. He'll be just as unhappy on the Reds this season, since they already appear to be going nowhere, and they're getting there mighty fast. Nine games in a row lost to start the season? Yeah, it's early, but digging a hole you can't get out of isn't a great way to lose fans, team cohesion, and ultimately, even more games.
What a jackass. Do people really still think he was just an innocent bystander at some titty bar when he got knifed two summers past… ?

It shows you what he thinks of his ex teammates on the Padres, and I'm sure the feelings mutual. He's the poster boy for someone who needs to attend anger management classes. Even in interviews he came across as angry. Must be a joy to hang around.

Good riddance … can almost guarantee he'll try to start something in Cincinnati next week - even if it's just with his mouth.

He'll plow into somebody if he gets the opportunity, or he'll be mouthing off most likely.

The idea of "staying hot" isn't a real thing when the "hot" isn't sustainable in the first place. Team has to protect itself against the clubhouse stuff and the 10-5 rights that are upcoming after the end of the season. It's a less than ideal spot to be in from an organizational standpoint.

The surveillance video indicated exactly that and he won the lawsuit against the club.
