MLB needs to look at their umps. Any homeplate umpire that wants pitches up and outside needs another job, he shouldn't be behind the plate! JMO

we beat the dodgers thats all i care about. I'd rather win the World Series. Beating the Dodgers is nice, but the goal is always to win the World Series, and that's something we've never been able to get done. I'd rather have seen the Phillies beat the Dodgers, us beat the Braves, and then us beat the Phillies. Our season ends in failure. Again. This is the oldest franchise to have NEVER won a World Series. And San Diego is the only major sports city without a championship.

Im ok with Philies beat us.. i mean they did it in pretty heroic fashion. im not going to beat myself over it. we were very luck to get the wildcard, and probably did not deserve to be there.

We play the Dodgers a ton of times each year. Yeah, it's nice to eliminate them in the playoffs, but it ended up meaning nothing since we just turned around and got smoked by Philadelphia. The goal is to win the World Series. That's why Preller went all in. Well, there are still too many holes and weak spots in this line-up to win a World Series.

I've been waiting 46 years to see the Padres win a World Series (the first Padre game I went to was in 1976, Randy Jones pitched and they won). Nothing else matters. Beating the Dodgers is nice, but it doesn't really mean anything. Nothing does except winning a World Series. That's the one thing this franchise has never done.

Trying to think...is there another professional sports city that has never won a championship? Even Tampa Bay and Toronto ...... Sorry, but it’s time for the hard truth. The NBA tried it in San Diego…..nobody showed up. The NFL asked San Diego to build a stadium for the Chargers…..San Diego couldn’t get it done. The Padres had their opportunities today and couldn’t perform in the clutch. Our best player is a dumbass who broke his wrist popping a wheelie on his motorcycle and then got popped for PED’s. Philly’s best player hit the game winning HR. See the difference? Sure, I’ll wait for next year…but a major championship? Good luck with that.

Trying to think...is there another professional sports city that has never won a championship? Even Tampa Bay and Toronto ...... San Diego is going on the largest number of sports seasons (NFL, MLB, and NBA combined) without a title. San Diego has lost not one, but TWO NBA teams, and now an NFL team. No sports city's fans have suffered like San Diego's. Not even close. [b I guess Buffalo going to 4 Super Bowls in a row and pulling an ofer might be close...

They haven't had an MLB team, though. On the other hand, we did steal their NBA team. And then the owner moved the team to Los Angeles because he was a greedy, cheap bastard who was so bad as an owner the league eventually forced him to sell the team.

San Diego has a history of letting the best player (Harper), in this case, on the opposing team beat them. The only team to avoid this fate are the San Diego Sockers indoor team which has 16 championships.

You gotta throw Hader against Harper there to save the season, since Suarez only has a couple of pitches in his repetoire to throw to Harper. To much of a risk against Harper and this is the season Suarez just needed to throw the fastball inside instead of outside. Harper couldn't catch up to Suarez's fastball enough to pull it. He hit the homerun opposite field.

Too much suckage in this series. The list is long.
There's plenty of work to be done this winter to rid this organization of excess baggage and rotten cheese.
But will it happen?
We'll probably be singing the same blues this time next year.
They are who we thought they were…

Think about this realistically: If someone told you the Padres would make the NLCS and Fernando Tatis Jr. wouldn't play a single inning this season, you'd laugh and call them a liar. Realism. I'll say this - I'd rather have the Padres go out in the LDS than lose in the LCS. It hurts a LOT more losing in the LCS. Hilarious. You harped on and on about how beating the Dodgers (which you wrote couldn't be done) was the goal and nothing else matted to you. They prove you wrong and now you write you'd rather have lost that series? You truly are the #1 board curmudgeon, which is saying something.
