The Aztecs won 31-7, and are undefeated.
However, Texas A&M just beat #1 Alabama today. They're 4-2. The win over Alabama is, arguably, far more impressive than anything San Diego State has done. Is it possible that some of the voters may feel that way? Could Texas A&M leapfrog over the Aztecs?
I don't think anyone else is dropping out.
It will be interesting to see what happens.

Doubtful. Most people will see 31-7 and assume an easy win

Doubtful. Most people will see 31-7 and assume an easy win Yeah, but New Mexico is a far, far cry from #1 Alabama! Texas A&M was just barely outside of the Top 25 going in to this weekend. They just beat the #1 team. That's got to put them in the Top 25. Which brings up the question - who drops out? Right now, I don't see anyone more likely to drop out than SDSU. It will be interesting to see what happens...

#21 Texas and/or #18 Auburn could possibly fall out to allow the Aztecs to stay in the top #25

fwiw Aztecs entered ESPN's power rankings at 23 after this week's games, they were unranked last week. Texas (21) lost so they're probably the team that drops out of the 25 in favor of A&M. Auburn (18) also lost so the Aztecs are more likely to move up the rankings than they are to drop out. Maybe as high as 22 depending on if Arkansas takes a big hit and whether A&M moves ahead of the Aztecs.

Texas played too well vs Oklahoma to drop out but Auburn got beat by 24 and lost its' 2nd game, they'll be gone. Arkansas lost its' 2nd game also.

I was thinking the same thing. Not dropping out because how we played but just a log jam of teams getting votes.

Arkansas was ranked too highly to drop out completely. This is going to be a close one. Someone has to drop out, because Texas A&M has to get in.

With the petty nuances, and predilections within the college football structure, I would not be shocked at all to see us dropped to 26 or 27; OR raised to 21 or 22. Guess I now have the table covered.

Auburn has lost to Georgia and Penn State but also haven't beaten anyone. They only beat a 3-3 LSU team. Thy should drop out but knowing how many sportswriters genuflect at the SEC altar, I guess it wouldn't surprise me to see 4 two-loss SEC teams in the Top 25 at our expense: Arkansas, Florida, Auburn and Texas A&M.

Yeah, we ALL know that the East Coast Bias is real. And being part of the Mountain West they look at us and kind of laugh. Especially if they bother to check our stats and the the passing numbers...

I'd rather have them only look at our passing numbers than actually watch our QBs attempt to pass.

WOW,
They must really like our Defense or they didn't watch our offense and just saw that we won by a good margin.
