You fail to mention that many African Americans, especially New York City, are reluctant to get the vaccine. There are a variety of reasons why people are not getting the vaccine. Some are at least somewhat justifiable, others not at all.

This is ridiculous. Trump did mention, in an irresponsible, off-hand manner, that perhaps bleach ought to be studied in connection with Covid-19. He never, repeat NEVER, said that bleach ought to be injected. As for hydroxychloroquine, some studies have shown it to be beneficial. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33042552/Trump's mention of hydroxychloroquine may or may not have been wise. It was in no way as preposterous as suggesting that one should inject bleach. And, as I stated above, Trump never made such a statement. Donald Trump can be legitimately criticized for a myriad of reasons. No need to make things up. AzWm

As for Dems speaking against the Vaccines, let's remember our current VP stating that she would not take anything associated with Donald Trump. Also, the Gov. of New York stated that he would create a special body to evaluate any vaccine created by Operation Warp Speed. He would not automatically accept the results of government evaluation because, you guessed it, Donald Trump was POTUS.
For anyone who has even a small amount of objectivity, there is a lesson to be learned here. One should not automatically renounce every single decision, program, or statement made by the previous administration. To do so is to be ruled by hatred. You do not have to praise the previous guy; after all you did run against him (or her). But, if you are eager to get good things done, it's just possible that the previous administration may have gotten a thing or two right. No need to trash your predecessor so completely that you have, by your hatred of the guy/gal, made it politically impossible to take advantage of those nuggets bequeathed to you on day one.

Look, Donald Trump has a very limited knowledge of so many things he should not have been talking about in a news conference. He should have pretty much kept his mouth shut and let the experts talk. Here's the thing. Why would you think I might defend him on this, or any other occasion when he just shot his mouth off without thinking? I believe Trump is a seriously flawed man who proved that on many occasions as POTUS. Isn't that enough? Do I have to hate him as well? What a silly question. Of course I have to hate him!!!! If I do not, that is evidence that I am a seriously flawed person. AzWm

AzWm It would've been nice if you just said you were wrong...that's what an upstanding person would do...but all that is written is excuses and assumptions....sad..... Just how was I wrong? Did Trump suggest that people should drink or inject bleach as a way to combat Covid-19? He most emphatically did not say that! Never! Please read the following: www.dailywire.com/news/fact-check-no-trump-did-not-tell-people-to-inject-themselves-with-disinfectant-or-drink-bleachlidblog.com/inject-ourselves-with-disinfectant/www.statesman.com/story/news/politics/elections/2020/07/13/fact-check-did-trump-tell-people-to-drink-bleach-to-kill-coronavirus/113754708/pjmedia.com/news-and-politics/matt-margolis/2021/04/23/no-trump-never-told-people-to-inject-themselves-with-bleach-heres-the-proof-n1442127Here's something from the third of the linked articles: Biden said Trump said drinking bleach could help fight the coronavirus. Trump did not specifically recommend ingesting disinfectants, but he did express interest in exploring whether disinfectants could be applied to the site of a coronavirus infection inside the body, such as the lungs. We rate Biden’s claim Mostly False.I believe he was doing his best to be helpful in the video we have been discussing. He meant well. But meaning well is not a substitute for giving advice that is the result of careful, intelligent consideration. Most important of all for a POTUS is to know when to talk and when to yield the floor to people who know more than you. On many occasions, Trump demonstrated that he was lacking in many of the qualities that are considered essential for a good leader. Focus on those; There is no need to exaggerate. To sum up my position, the claim that Trump suggested that bleach should be injected is totally false. Yes, his statements in this regard were ill-considered and should not have been made. But the Trump haters were all too quick to exaggerate what he actually said. Trump might just as well said that the Earth was flat and FDR deliberately bombed Pearl Harbor. AzWm

"Trump said, “And then I see the disinfectant, where it knocks it out in a minute. One minute. And is there a way we can do something like that, by injection inside or almost a cleaning? Because you see it gets in the lungs and it does a tremendous number on the lungs. So it would be interesting to check that. So, that you’re going to have to use medical doctors with. But it sounds — it sounds interesting to me.”Name a disinfectant that knocks out Covid in a minute...bleach/Lysol is a disinfectant...is there any other use for disinfectant for internal medical purposes?...why would anyone possibly think bleach/Lysol can be injected internally?...when has anyone injected disinfectant into anyone's lungs?...who would it be interesting to other than Dr. Mengele?...Who's gonna cut open someone's body and roll them out and let the "sunshine"/UV light cure them?...this is straight idiocy...coming out the president of the US mouth...while a doctor and expert is sitting right next to him that he is supposedly smarter than...this is why he was kicked the hell out of office on his keister...he was totally incompetent...but yet you hang on his every word and attempt to defend him using propaganda fake right-wing sources....sad.... The main ingredient in household bleach is sodium hypochlorite, which reacts with water to form hypochlorous acid, which breaks down organic matter." "When a poison control center receives a call about someone who injected themselves with bleach, it’s often a tragic suicide attempt, Calello says. Occasionally, someone has a misguided idea about “cleansing” the blood, she says. “Those chemicals are just not meant to be in the human body in any way. They’re not meant to be on your skin, much less in your veins,” she says. “If you inject bleach or ammonia or any disinfectants, it automatically starts to kill the lining of your blood vessels and your blood cells and your organs.” www.wired.com/story/heres-what-disinfectants-and-uv-light-really-do-to-your-body/

I have dismissed what Trump said in this regard. He has a habit of shooting his mouth off without really knowing much about the topic being discussed. You do not have to convince me that it's a bad idea to inject oneself with bleach. What I am objecting to is the charge that Trump said something that he really did not say. It was bad enough that he would suggest to the medical experts that they should study the potentially positive effects of bleach, etc. But he did NOT say that people should drink or inject bleach! For people with a pathological hatred of Trump (as opposed to merely considering him seriously unqualified), it's easy to twist his admittedly poorly considered words into something far worse. How about when Biden said to a black audience that the Republicans "want to put you all back in chains"? (In the 2020 campaign.) I don't have to twist his words. Biden actually DID say that the GOP wanted to reinstate chattel slavery. Do you believe that Joe Biden the human being actually believes that? Of course you do not. Neither do I. I feel it is entirely appropriate to criticize him for saying something so obviously false. I do not criticize him for actually believing that Republicans want to bring back slavery. You do understand the difference, right? AzWm

We can't even have a real discussion on January 6th because you won't answer basic questions, but you will damn sure try to equate Democrats and policy on the same level as Donald Trump. It's disingenuous, misleading and a detriment. We get it, he's unqualified and a terrible person, but what about Joe Biden?!?!? (Is how it reads, all the time...) Here's an exercise around mental gymnastics: While the former president did not say "Go inject yourself with bleach" verbatim, the fact is that poison control center calls spiked dramatically in the days following those comments. That's not a coincidence. The cult followers, of which there are millions, actually believe that this man is some kind of deity. There are still a LARGE percentage of people who think he is going to be reinstated as president...today. But yes, let's talk about Joe Biden's slavery comments as Republicans actively try to block Black people from voting.

But yes, let's talk about Joe Biden's slavery comments as Republicans actively try to block Black people from voting. As for suppressing the right to vote, notice how at least some Democrats are suddenly not quite so hostile to voter ID. I guess they looked at the polls and realized that a VERY large majority of Americans think that voter ID is important. Here's a fun fact, 46 out of 47 European countries require voters to present ID. I guess all of those countries are hopelessly racist. townhall.com/tipsheet/guybenson/2021/06/04/study-46-out-of-47-european-countries-require-photo-id-to-vote-n2590454 Perhaps you endorse President Biden's claim that the GOP voting laws proposed or actually passed are as bad as the Jim Crow laws of the pre-1960s era. Such a claim is ridiculous and tends to trivialize what African Americans had to face generations ago. I am more disturbed by something you wrote above. You claim that I have stated that I "despise Donald Trump". You can read, obviously. But it appears that you interpret some things you read as the opposite of their actual meaning. Down is up and day is night, apparently. I think Trump was a woefully inadequate POTUS. I will not again cite the list of reasons why I think he was not close to having the basic requirements that almost all Americans believe a President should possess. But, and here is the point you either do not understand or want to ignore, I do not HATE or DEPISE the man. You do. Hatred can blind one to objectively evaluating a person or situation. I do not have to hate Donald Trump in order to consider him to have been a grievously flawed man and President. By the way, I see that you, yourself, have done some mental gymnastics. You have gone from saying that he DID say that people should inject or drink bleach to saying that some people MISINTERPRETED his words to mean that they should do so. Well, that's bad, for sure. And his whole bit about suggesting that the experts ought look into bleach, etc., is clearly proof that Trump does not think before he talks. Let's just agree on that point. AzWm
