Has reopened his commitment; such a bummer but move on to those who want to be here. Good luck to you.

Unfortunately he backs out of his commitment, reopening it back up. No word as to why. Sucks, I'm sure someone started to whisper in his ear. Oh well, move on Aztecs faithful.

basketball.wasatchacademy.org/staffWasatch Academy has 4 coaches from BYU/ BYU-Hawaii, one from USU & Utah, doubt that they could shake him from SDSU, unless he decided he wanted to be at a PAC12 school, as his first 3 selections: SDSU, Washington & Arizona. Wasatch Academy team mate Chris Bunch just signed at Syracuse.

Better now than later. We will find a good transfer.

Dutch will land a stud transfer next year, we’ll be fine. So hard relying on 17-18 year old kids who think they’re much more important than they really are.

I've always said if I was the parent of a kid like this I'd have him wait until the late signing period before committing anywhere. Things change & evolve all year, and rosters go through massive overhauls in the spring via the transfer portal. Why bind yourself to any team when they could go out & get an experienced transfer who'd take away your potential PT?
For instance, if he's now reconsidering UW for all he knows they may have a different HC as of March, or Arizona (his other finalist) could be banned from post-season again next year or face harsh penalties. Or if we considers where his teammate is going - Syracuse - Boeheim could be gone. SDSU was the most stable of all the teams he considered, but I'd still have him wait just in case Dutch finds another Bradley & Pulliam in the portal in March.

I was shocked when he committed to SDSU, as you could tell by his posts that he wanted to go back to Seattle.

One of my first thoughts: what if some other program came at him with the promise of a substantial NIL deal.

Playing in Utah for his HS senior year; speculation is that he might be homesick and this would continue if he went to SDSU. Better to have him cut now vs. later, gives Dutch a chance to try to fill that spot now or later with a transfer. Nevertheless, good luck to this kid, SDSU will be fine.

Yeah I didn't see him starting next year anyways. Very talented but no way with the learning curve of playing Aztec defense. We will get a talented transfer who will vie with Butler for PG minutes next year. Honestly not a bad thing to have a smaller freshmen class anyways.

believe some one has put it out there that Dutcher and staff will now consider a transfer - if we look back at some of the transfers we have gotten in the past that play guard : Malachi , X , T-G0 , Matt B ( plays the 2 or 3 ) , there are going to be a lot in the portal after this season .
would have liked to have K J but if he has other ideas then bid him good by and the team moves forward .

Of course, it seems that one of his previous coaches really wanted him to go away, too many negative influences where he grew up is what I recall him saying.
