6'8 220 lb Elijah Saunders, 6'7 170 lb Miles Byrd and 6'2 175 lb Koren Johnson all ranked 3-star to 4-star players based on the services. Great class when you add in RS Freshman 6'10" Demarshay Johnson I think Byrd gets upgraded when all is said & done. And LeDee

I think Byrd gets upgraded when all is said & done. And LeDee ?? Byrd is still in HS & they will reevaluate players over the course of the season & adjust some grades. LeDee is a transfer, so not sure how that's relevant?

Awesome. This has been a great offseason for us. We kept two guys who could have left but just had fun playing here, brought in 4 good transfers and then sign three great HS recruits! Great job by Dutch and his staff.

I assume that we may be done with the HS class of 2022, three spots from high schoolers and three spots for upcoming transfers. In reality, I would say yes they are done, but there are a few guys left that they would take if they want to come to State.

He could get minutes as a freshmen, depending on what Seiko does after the season. Good decision making, passing, shooting. Not super fast, but he uses his long arms and court awareness to make a lot of plays on defense. Uses his handles to get where he wants to go on the court, and can stop on a dime. Solid pickup. He will get minutes as a freshman, he is better than Lamont as a freshman, the question is will he be the starter.

Boise was right and hats off to him. Did not expect this so fast but I did think we would get the selection. Super excited but would like us to finish off this class with 5 spot Big Max Lee but unfortunately that’s not in the cards. Those that think Johnson will start over Butler.are mistaken. Butler will be like X, just improves.

The last two guys from WA state — Jalen McDaniels and Malachi Flynn — are in the NBA, which no doubt was a selling point to Johnson to come to SDSU.

This should light an even bigger fire under Lamont. He needs to really establish himself this year to fight off KJ2 next year.

I doubt any of the freshman get big time minutes next year, but 1 or 2 of them can establish a role as a reserve. I'm very excited for the class long term but some of the expectations of what they will do right away is a bit much.

Will obviously depend upon who we land via the transfer market and who returns. But I'd expect 2 to get in the rotation but not start. Too much talent and a staff that really values experience.

From the video I've seen of Johnson, the only thing he does better than Butler did as a H.S. player is shoot from distance. Butler is so quick and strong off the dribble. He also was very effective stealing the ball on D.

I agree that Butler will get lots of PT next year. Butler and Johnson will run the team after Trey and Seiko leave. I think Adam will blossom more this year to where playing somewhere professionally next year will be probable. We'll have a four-headed guard monster of two very good PGs and two good #2s.

It's starting to look like we will have a starting team with at least 3 Johnsons, that's a lot of Johnsons.
Who nose by then we may have more!

Love this kid's makeup, a Malachi disciple no doubt. An embarrassment of riches, great job Aztecs recruiting staff!!! I saw one comparison to Allen Iverson, I think it came from his HS HC? One of SDSU's finest recruiting classes on paper according to the scouting/recruiting services. All three top 150, and top 20 at their positions. Plus 3 more scholarships left for transfers, puts us in a good spot for the future.
