If he truly desires to play on a team that emphasizes zone defense, the Aztecs may not be the best fit for Bunch. Sad, but true.
I am left wondering why any player that has NBA aspirations would not want to improve his skills at "Man" defense as much as possible in order to better his professional profile/prospects.

Koren Johnson Wasatch Academy (UT) | 6’1.5” Guard | 2022 | 17.9 Recruitment: Arizona, Washington, San Diego State (Koren’s top-3) www.prospectiveinsight.com/post/2021-pt40-stock-boostersMeet the alpha dog of this year’s PT40. Johnson, a recent transfer from Garfield (WA) to Wasatch Academy (UT), appears to be following similar Seattle-to-Utah footsteps as another PT40 alumnus, Gonzaga’s Nolan Hickman. All superlatives and comparisons aside, Koren Johnson is a flat-out bucket-getter. He needs zero help from teammates to generate offense, and he can do it from 25 feet out just as easily as at the rim. The 6’1+ guard is a seasoned, creative ball-handler who can create space on-demand, but a lot of us knew that coming in. What Johnson showed on Saturday that really stood out from previous viewings was his defensive intensity — it was great to see him pick up full court and sit down and be a bulldog on the ball. Whichever program lands him will be getting an instant impact player at the next level.

Little doubt he is a high level talent
So it just up to him to decide where he sees the best fit for him

Teammates just love a PG with good handles that will find them when they're open and that can take and make a shot in crunch time. He's a stud. He made that dunk look pretty easy for someone 6'1.5".

I assume that we may be done with the HS class of 2022, three spots from high schoolers and three spots for upcoming transfers.

6'8 220 lb Elijah Saunders, 6'7 170 lb Miles Byrd and 6'2 175 lb Koren Johnson all ranked 3-star to 4-star players based on the services. Great class when you add in RS Freshman 6'10" Demarshay Johnson

He could get minutes as a freshmen, depending on what Seiko does after the season.
Good decision making, passing, shooting.
Not super fast, but he uses his long arms and court awareness to make a lot of plays on defense.
Uses his handles to get where he wants to go on the court, and can stop on a dime.
Solid pickup.

I assume that we may be done with the HS class of 2022, three spots from high schoolers and three spots for upcoming transfers. Technically, as of today we have 14 players eligible for 2023, although I doubt all 4 "seniors" return for their Super Senior year (Bradley, Seiko, AG & Nate), and I think 1 guy (Che) could be tempted to transfer out for PT. Therefore, we could be sitting at anywhere from 9-13 players. Unless someone falls into our lap who'd be willing to RS I do agree that we're done with FR - we definitely wouldn't be "staying old" by any stretch of the imagination with yet another FR. I'd hope we replace any of the "seniors" who leave with upper classmen, and only add an underclassman transfer if they're pretty elite.
