Not so under current tax law. I'm not arguing with you. I'm asking for specifics. How are they taxed? Yoda out... Qualified dividends, and most are, are taxed in the same manner as long term capital gains.

I had no idea. In looking for further info, I found references to favored treatment for qualified dividends ending at the end of this month. True? Is that something that might be extended along with the tax cuts? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qualified_dividendsYoda out...

It is typical for the GOP to prefer the income of capital over the income of land or labor. While I did save taxes on my dividends, as a governmental policy I thought it wrong.

While I did save taxes on my dividends, as a governmental policy I thought it wrong. Thanks, I appreciate the lesson. I probably have CNBC on six hours a day and never knew. Lots of discussions as respects extending the tax cuts but none that I've ever seen about this. I have all of my assets invested in my own business and, because it is a subchapter S corp, the income flows to my wife and I as earned income rather than as dividends. But there is a family trust that supports my parents and I should have known that they were paying a preferential tax rate on a good portion of their income. It kind of puts this tax cut extension in a different light as well. If the Dems don't want to extend the tax cut for the wealthy, so called, then what are they proposing as respects this issue -- extending in full, in part (lower tax brackets only) or not at all? Interesting... Yoda out...

I suspect that you did not read that opinion piece very closely. I am very rarely wrong on these type issues and this is not one of those rare occasions. Were you to use terms like "considered like" or "artificial person", you might be close.

Give it up, gob.

Give it up, gob. Yoda has posted the answer according to Wiki. Again, you are wrong. You should go back and read your first semester accounting text where it was explained in even clearer terms. I am afraid getting a room would result in a food fight.

I remember when the Bush tax cuts went into effect. Those in the middle class should remember how the Bush tax cuts effected them. Think about it.

Cantor just voted for the biggest stimulus package in USA history. Did not make any cuts as promosed to be fiscally responsible. Amazing!

davdsd just lost this arguement due to him now resorting to name calling. He is using the Palin game book.

No argument to lose. Republicans do not control anything. You want to bitch about them, but your party controls Congress and the Executive.
And Palin is just another private citizen.
Maybe you should be bitching about Obama (and Clinton) who seem to be arguing against your wishes.
