I guess Lindsey really saw into the future. That's why you can't trust just about everyone in the political world. Horrible.

I guess Lindsey really saw into the future. That's why you can't trust just about everyone in the political world. Horrible. You can't trust GOP members who say this and then still won't support impeachment after the largest act of sedition in history. The article of impeachment that was put forth is "inciting insurrection" which is essentially the most grievous crime a president can be accused of. Trump will likely own that for the rest of time.

You can't trust most politicians Ryan, not just the GOP, and I know you understand that. You're smarter than that. No matter who, whether it's Dem, or Rep, or Lib, it doesn't matter, these people will sell their souls to advance their careers. It's up to us to sift through the BS and call their BS for what it is.

I'm not going to play a both sides game here with this specific issue. One side was absolutely complicit in sedition and treasonous behavior. One side backed insurrection and hitched their wagon to an authoritarian when they had an opportunity to right the wrongs and decided it wasn't worth it. I'll pass on the whataboutism and stick to facts here. Not a single Democrat voted against the resolution of states certifying ballots. Not one.

Not a single Democrat voted against the resolution of states certifying ballots. Not one. ...this year. There are Democrats objecting to the certification of ballots in every year the Democrats lose. Don't act like objecting to ballot certification is rare or unheard of. It isn't. It happens in every election going back at least 20 years. There are actually Democrats who have objected to certification of ballots in previous elections who now have the gall to say the objection to the certification of ballots is cause for expulsion from Congress.

Congratulations on the dumbest narrative of 2021. Low bar to clear. We had an insurrection the other day, maybe you heard about it. Not certifying the vote on its own merit is one thing - Members of the GOP actively promoted baseless conspiracy theories for months (if not longer) that played an active role in the events of January 6th. Hawley and Cruz should be expelled, at a minimum. Both are cancerous cowards trying to enhance their longevity by appealing to the president. Not supporting impeachment after the events of Wednesday plainly illustrates a lack of moral fortitude and a failure to uphold the oath of office.

...after the largest act of sedition in history. Even if you had limited it to American history it would been laughably dumb seeing as there was a Civil War that killed in excess of 600,000 people over a 4 year span raging through a huge chunk of the country, but no, you went further to claim the protest/riot on the afternoon of January 6th, which delayed the EC vote certification for a few hours, was the largest act of sedition in history. You do know the Earth is more than 5 years old, right? The article of impeachment that was put forth is "inciting insurrection" which is essentially the most grievous crime a president can be accused of. The most grievous? Not treason? Not murder? Not child rape? You are going with incitement being the worst thing that exists?

Well, with a taste of your own medicine, calling it the largest act in sedition history, or calling it the most grievous crime in history, is one of dumbest things I've ever read, based on the history of this Country.

Replace the word "sedition" with "insurrection" (Typo on my part) - And you say nothing until your chief chimes in....Odd. (Piggybacking again)...Thanks for repeating what he said, but it's not necessary. There hasn't been armed insurrection against the Capitol since 1812, John. That's not dumb...it's the truth. Also, no president has ever been accused of a more serious offense in modern history. But please, give me a history lesson. I'm all ears. You don't have a single original thought. You regurgitate talking points like it's some sort of clever retort. Not quite, unfortunately.

Forgive the lack of patience, but it's the repeated spin and fallacies that make those of us just nauseous. I can handle "my own medicine" because being blunt is a good character trait. But come up with something that's actually a real thought, other than just repeating the same lines. We endured four years. We're tired.

No, when you originally posted that, I thought to myself that it was an ignorant statement, but I didn't want to ruffle feathers. After reading Alometer's response to you on the subject, I started thinking about all the times you call peoples thoughts and posts dumb or stupid, so I thought I'd lump that one in with the rest of them. That's all.

It just so happens that Alometer sometimes posts things that I agree with, and I don't mind admitting that he can state it more eloquently than I can. I personally think that you exaggerate on some issues, but I also agree with a lot of what you say as well. I wish you had it in your vocabulary, at times, to say, ok, we can agree to disagree. That goes a long way.

That's all. So you just proved my point. I call things stupid for a reason. Because most of them are outlandish, not of this planet believable, from very specific posters promoting very specific agendas. It's not because I'm a mean person, it's because we are exhausted of trying to establish undebatable conclusions. No spin, no indifference, no misdirection. You aren't going to ruffle feathers and you shouldn't be afraid to do so. It's a poltiical forum.

That's not some illusion that's going to disappear like a Copperfield magic show. The OP has never posted in good faith, spins the same yarn of garbage time and time again and it's just not going to happen. Accountability is a real thing. We conquer issues by holding feet to the fire. You may not like it. It's a necessary thing to do though if you ever want to convince anyone of anything.

Another thing - If you're just casually skimming this thread and take the words from the OP at face value...you are being cheated. The claims of the impeachment being unconstitutional, for example. (It isn't) and the majority of law scholars agree on that. You have to be very careful when you start taking words as gospel. Snakes in the grass.
