Would it be unreasonable to assume law enforcement will be ready if it happens again. I would hope so. Considering the adults are in charge now, yeah. Keep in mind the only reason January 6th happened was because it was pre-planned, coordinated and had help from members of Congress. Had Trump actually done his job, it would have been over in minutes. He delayed (and ultimately never made the call) to deploy the DC NG.

I'd hope that America won't fracture. But it's not looking good. Using our little group here as a microcosm, I'm hopeful. Yes, there will be the cult followers and trolls who are going to do what they do, such as Musician and Thor, but IMHO the majority of those who in the past have voted republican, such as Erik and John here, have woken up/are staring to wake up to the BS.

Supreme Court will take the case on immunity. Pretty stunning.

True, but I think that it's also time that Democrats wake up to the B.S. It is morally reprehensible to vote for any Democrat that voted in favor of further funding for Israel's military earlier this month. Funding genocide is unacceptable, and should be an automatic no vote for any person that professes to be a Democrat. For CA Senate, I'm referring to Laphonza Butler and Alex Padilla. For the Presidency, I'm referring to Butcher Biden.

It may be a bit over the top, but Joe Biden is the President of the most powerful country in the world. He has not effectively used his position of power to end the genocide in Israel. He has not publicly called out Israel for their genocidal actions. That is unacceptable. For someone in his position of power to not take action is reprehensible. We are funding the slaughter of Palestinians. That Has To End. The US has objected to the ICJ, has objected to criticizing Israel in the UN. That is 100% unacceptable! And that is Biden's fault - solely Biden's fault!

Sometimes, the political reality is more complex than your emotional response.

Sometimes, the political reality is more complex than your emotional response. If a country that is a close ally to us is practicing genocide, then they no longer deserve to be our ally. If we were closely allied with Germany 🇩🇪 before WWII, and then they starting killing Jewish people, would we stay allied with them, or would we condemn them? You know, sometimes life isn't as complicated as you are making it out to be. It's rather binary. Do you support, or do you condemn, genocide? I'm sorry but you really cannot straddle the fence on this type of issue. Indifference is what leads to massive slaughter and human suffering.

Agree with you re first paragraph and Butler and Padilla. "Butcher Biden" is a bit over the top. Extremely. "Genocide Joe" is more appropriate: Biden Tries to Shake Off 'Genocide Joe' Epithet, But it Could Be the Issue That Sinks Him"Last month, Biden staged what he hoped would be a major pro-abortion rights rally, yet he was interrupted by chants of “Genocide Joe.”"A battleground state, Michigan will be key to winning the White House come November. And if Biden loses the votes of many in the Dearborn community – which widely supported him in 2020 – that could spell doom for his reelection." "The polls continue to look bad for Biden. One last month from The Economist/YouGov found that 51% of 2020 Biden voters say Israel's war against Gaza is “too harsh.” Even worse for the president, half of these voters say Israel is committing genocide of Palestinians." "But with the Israel-Hamas war now taking center stage, that seems to trump abortion as a key motivating factor for voters." www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/columnist/2024/02/07/biden-israel-gaza-genocide-democrats-2024-election/72480021007/

He is straddling between what is morally/humanitarian right and political expedience...that's the problem. Who else will he sellout? Most minorities and whites of goodwill are taking pause...the choice between Genocide Joe and Traitor Trump is not palatable...and many will not vote.

Nobody is more cognizant and aware than I am on this stuff, following it pretty much daily. I just choose not to buy into the sensationalism that's being perpetuated and know that optics change all the time. To each their own, your vote is your own.
