Both loses this season I put squarely on the coaches shoulders. More heavily on the offensive coaches. Not one adjustment on the line play in the 2nd half of either game. If Nevada is going to play the run for the runner to go back side, run right at them and wedge block and don't pull any guards or tackles. Completely agree. The team was completely unprepared to play 60 minutes in both games, mostly for their asses kicked on both lines, bad tackling, undisciplined penalties. These are all signs of bad coaching. Both of those games were winnable into the final 2 minutes in games we played mostly like garbage - the fact that those games were still close speaks to the fact that we have a lot of talent. Our lines getting dominated is a massive concern. We weren’t playing Alabama or Clemson. There is no way the SJSU and UNR lines are good enough to dominate us - the talent gap isn’t that big. This is a discipline, focus, technique, toughness and “who wants it most” issue. Could also be a function of physical conditioning. With fewer supervised practice sessions, who knows what individuals were doing to prep themselves for this crazy season.

Are you folks still liking the idea of scheduling BYU? Will be an absolute bloodbath. We will be absolutely obliterated... by BYU... nothing is worse. We should’ve quit while we were ahead, we had the perfect out this season with Covid. Would’ve pissed them off if we backed out - which would’ve been awesome. Now we will have the bad taste of getting pimp slapped by them for YEARS. Maybe some Aztecs will get some scratchy throats that week? 🤔

Can we maybe start a gofundme account to pay these guys more than minimum wage? We won't go anywhere without more funds. We are a shoestring operation. You think we lost to Nevada or San Jose because we are run on a shoestring? We would get killed by other bigger programs due that rationale. Losing to those 2 programs has nothing to do with our budget. They don’t have bigger budgets- but they have better coaches.

It’s a weird year but is a weird year for every program. Based on that, that reasoning - while certainly reasonable - does not fly with me.

Based on that, that reasoning - while certainly reasonable - does not fly with me. Not necessarily true for the other schools. This would really depend on how each individual program ran its off-season/Covid-19 conditioning programs. Not knowing enough about how SDSU - or any of the other schools - ran their program, kept their athletes "on the edge and ready", provided equipment, etc. - it's harder to make any kind of comparisons.
