Our program will only going downhill after Rocky Long’s sour exit. Let’s face it. If Hoke were that good, you won’t see him back SDSU. I said that long ago. He should be Cal Poly's coach.

All you "fans" who get on here when we have that bad loss in November every year and say "when does basketball start". Well, basketball isn't going to do much better with a team that went 30-2 last year and then isn't even ranked this year, and a coach if it wasn't for coronavirus would be beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeck in Minnesota coaching his alma mater.

Again, the school was very lazy (or cheap) with addressing their head coaching vacancy. Hoke 1 was a decent effort. Long was a lazy hire and so is Hoke 2. Long turned out to be a pretty good lazy hire. Yet Nm is 0-4 under his "leadership" Nice going Rock.

I agree that the coaches failed to make needed adjustments the second half even though they were down some weapons (injured, immobile Lucas and Greg Bell). Funny thing is with a fully healthy team we might end up being the best in the conference by the end of the season but won't have a chance to win it or even go to a bowl game. Maybe knocking off an undefeated top 10 BYU team will make it all (almost) worthwhile.

Aztecs were not rated last year either, until they played 8 games! They will be a very good team but they're playing their toughest non-conference schedule in history. Choice between sdsu football game and sdsu basketball game is an easy one. MBB.

Fans attending or not attending sports and/or watching or not watching sports based on what a team or school does is part of the sports discussion.

That's the thing I hate most about the football coaching fraternity: too much loyalty to their buddies. You failed before with them, what makes you think things will change? EEEDIOT So you're okay with the good ol' boys network? Hoke & Heck...Long & Horton? Turn a blind eye to ineptitude because, hey, they're your good buddy! Meanwhile, many young and innovative football minds are out there on the cheap, but have no shot because...cronyism. Glad to know you don't run my workplace.

"good old boy" network at work: Rocky prior to leaving sdsu, found jobs for: Zach Arnet with Syracuse then moved over to Mississipp State after Rocky greassed the wheels for him (Barber and Leech) Tony White- To Syracuse after Arnet left the job (weeks later) Tony Gonzales- To New Mexico of which Rocky just happened to follow a few weeks later. This is what a Senior coach should do for his assistants but at some point it kind of is the "Good Old Boy Network!"

This school needs to find a QB, i dont give a $#!+ about running backs. Find a QB who has potential or dont recruit anyone or fire the QB recruiter. After last week I posted “enough of this QB shite... enough already” There is a program-wide systemic issue with the QB position and our passing game. When was Lindley’s last season? While that wasn’t a great season for him- he was the last QB we had that had the skill set. I did think Johnson looked good at early. When he struggled later, I was really wondering what the hell was going on with the play calling. The OC did nothing to put him in a position to be successful. Plus he was banged up a bit. Once again our play design/calling/selection is unimaginative, simplistic and shows no understanding of game planning and game flow-plus we show no coaching ability to get the ball to players in space that can do damage when not running into a wall of 9 defenders or running deep routes on 3 and 10 or less. It shows a complete inability and lack of understanding of their players. There are so many plays out there that can get guys the ball in space not too far downfield that any decent D1 QB should be able to consistently execute. Also, what was with the weird play calling with Byrd into the line? Where were the Bells - I know Greg was out for a bit - but that still left Bell and Williams, Byrd was the last RB those play calls should go to.

Both loses this season I put squarely on the coaches shoulders. More heavily on the offensive coaches. Not one adjustment on the line play in the 2nd half of either game. If Nevada is going to play the run for the runner to go back side, run right at them and wedge block and don't pull any guards or tackles. Completely agree. The team was completely unprepared to play 60 minutes in both games, mostly got their asses kicked on both lines, bad tackling, undisciplined penalties. These are all signs of bad coaching. Both of those games were winnable into the final 2 minutes in games we played mostly like garbage - the fact that those games were still close speaks to the fact that we have a lot of talent. Our lines getting dominated is a massive concern. We weren’t playing Alabama or Clemson. There is no way the SJSU and UNR lines are good enough to dominate us - the talent gap isn’t that big. This is a discipline, focus, technique, toughness and “who wants it most” issue. For that I blame the coaches.
