Exactly what I thought would happen did. The new jobs report "shatters" expectations, with 4.8 million "new" jobs created. That's the spirit!! Glad your faith in Trump's considerable talent at lifting the economy has been validated. Lol. It's erroneous, just like last month's clerical error from the BLS. Means nothing, but it's great propaganda.

But, does the jobs report at least give an example of what will happen if there's no Covid setbacks, or if there's a vaccine which means people will be able to hold their jobs?

It's misleading data. Of course jobs are going to come back, people went back to work after being furloughed, sheltered in place and shut down. The fact they constructed the data from June 12th (before the spikes in cases in several states) is disingenuous and a political talking point. 17 million people are still unemployed, Black unemployment rose again and the country is leaning back hard towards another shutdown.

That was my thought, of course job numbers are going to go up when people go back to work. The real proof will be when there's a vaccine and the Country is not under as much of a threat to shut down partially. But, I think it gives the indication that the Country can get back to where it was before the pandemic. Some hope. People are ready to go back to work and spend money which will help the economy.

They aren't though. That's the problem.

They aren't though. That's the problem. Once there's a vaccine, people will be spending money, and people will be working. Whoever is President at the time, will take credit for that. Wrongfully. And this assumes that we will have a working vaccine, which ia still very much in limbo. The president doesn't control medical trials.
