I couldn't disagree more from this position, unfortunately. Yes, there are nuances and layers to this issue that run deeply in our culture. If it isn't the president's job to lead, then at a minimum it has to be the integrity of the office to not inflame matters further. I agree that the president shouldn't inflame matters. But the job of the president isnt to bring everyone together, to unite or unify us. Thats a scary proposition if you ask me. I mean case in point is our discussion here. We are not united in our opinion.....good. I doubt we will ever be unified in our opinion, thats okay; we don't need to be unified we just need to respect each other's rights to our opinions. Now, please note I am writing that as a general opinion, and not specifically related to this instance (for which you could argue the cops did not respect people's rights). This is what leadership looks like.

This is what leadership looks like. In my view, that was a good and righteous thing he did, but not part of his job. Along the same lines, its how I view the role of the president (and have for sometime) its his job to enforce the laws, propose a budget, etc etc; not unite people in a semblance of social appeasement. But that just goes to my view that these people are not our leaders.

The president essentially just declared martial law. Hey, at least he didn't do it on Twitter. They used tear gas to clear Lafayette Park on peaceful protesters so they could get a photo op in front of a church. I'm just at a loss for words at this point. Multiple sources have said he did this because he was upset with how the media portrayed him in the bunker last night. Insurrection against American citizens is a bold path to take. But I wish I could say I was surprised.

Not interested in hearing your rationalizations for what is domestic terrorism against the United States.

Yes, they are all lying to undermine the president. Did the President make that order? Or did somebody else feel that it was necessary?

Yes, they are all lying to undermine the president. Did the President make that order? Or did somebody else feel that it was necessary? It simply doesn't matter. They did it for a PHOTO OPPORTUNITY, John. A PHOTO OPPORTUNITY. Think about that. They gassed a PEACEFUL group of people. To have the president walk across the street. For a photo.

What is the use of issuing a curfew if not enforced? This fiasco is primarily the fault of the Minneapolis Mayor and Minnesota Governor as they failed to protect their citizens as they were castrated by the fear of being named a racist or working with Trump. Just one more time for the slow, Trump had nothing to do with Mr. Flynn's death and nothing to do with the mismanagement of the response to the anarchy. And the Mayors/Govs in the other cities/states should/could have called for the National Guard once they saw the failure in Minnesota. But no. More castration/suicide by leftist Political Correctness. Now it is a free for all sponsored by leftists. And the Democrats are going to wear the anarchists like an albatross all the way to the election. In attitude, there is little difference between them and AOC and her ilk. There will not be a closet small enough for her to hide in during the coming election season without reminding all of their anti-capitalist collectivist BS. Also, the debate about the right for the average Joe to own a semi-automatic rifle for home protection is over. This time, the police can't protect commercial private property but who can tell what the police can't protect next time?

Drivel. The white nationalists who are embraced by the administration, clearly no mention of those. Oh bother! Tucker Carlson. Never thought I would see the day. But yes, neither of the two members left of the Trump brigade have an issue with either declaring war against American citizens or using tear gas against a lawful protest?

We don't know all of what is said and about what intel comes in. Were they told to leave and they wouldn't past curfew?
