Listening to the St. Paul Police Department scanner, the imagery in Minneapolis is hard to fathom. Systemic divide in this country just continues to escalate.

Trumps fault. This has never happened before. 'rolls eyes' His tweet sure didn't help. Leadership comes in many shapes and sizes, just not his. Systemic racism though is a very serious issue.

Reporter gets pelted with rubber bullets on a live broadcast.
I guess the enemy of the people is being taken to heart.

This is not the Presidents fault. Anyone making that claim is an ignorant troll. The stuff that's happening goes way beyond police brutality. The country was at a boiling point long before Trump took office. You are going to see more of this stuff. The middle class is disappearing and everything from corporate shitbags, the health care system, the judicial system and everything in between continues to fleece Americans. 65 to 70 percent of Americans living paycheck to paycheck and the country gets shut down on top of it.
Good Luck!!

Good Luck!! Yes, cops were under fire long before this. The Dems/Libs will take this incident and turn it into a Trump thing. So predictable. It doesn't matter who the president is, this type of outrageous response (the looting, vandalism) was absolutely going to happen as evidenced in the past.

Whatever you have to tell yourself to feel comfortable, go for it. Police brutality isn't a new thing, obviously. Neither is oppression of black people, which dates back centuries to countries far beyond this one. Here's the problem though... You have a president who unequivocally promotes unrest. He claimed today to not know the source of last night's quote, which dates back to 1967, in a press conference earlier this afternoon. While it's unlikely the murder of George Floyd was a white nationalist issue, the president absolutely exacerbates the divide between people with hateful language, pushing for civil unrest, marginalizing victims and making a firestorm out of a situation already engulfed in flames. The double standard between white protestors and African American protestors is real : Just look at the videos, without commentary, to judge for yourself. While the fans of 45 are making him out to be a victim of the media, the left, the middle, China, Russia or anyone else, the real victims are getting overshadowed, like George Floyd. Like Laquan McDonald. Like Alton Sterling. And the list goes on.

And one more thing : These protests are interwoven with a weaponized police state that lacks training, foresight, discipline and restraint. The response to this could help the nation heal. Get leaders together, push social reforms, push police reform. Take some sort of action to put a stop to this. I have zero hope for that to happen though at this point.

Take a look at the crowds at these protests across the country. It's all people of America that have been oppressed. 40 million unemployed. Still think it was a good idea to shut the country down because of a f****** flu virus?

THESE protests going on today, the last few days in Atlanta, Minneapolis, San Jose, New York and Washington are about George Floyd. And the systemic racial issues that are so prevalent in this country. The murder by a police officer of an unarmed black person. This has nothing to do with COVID-19, at all. The country at large was never shut down, and yes, the numbers are now escalating again as states reopen prematurely. California just recorded a record high today, Texas twice in the last 10 days, Georgia with a 26% increase since May 11th, etc. But that is another topic entirely.

Sorry, but your ignorance to what's really going on is what's wrong with this country. When was the last time the entire country protested and rioted because of a shooting in one city? You are blind and part of the problem.

Might be a silver lining to this. Looks like Americans might be coming together.

Rather than fight over something as unimportant as whose fault it is, there is a psychological element that likely has had an effect with the isolation and chaos that has been happening since March. It's impossible to quantify, but it's likely a matter of frustration as well. Unfortunately, this doesn't help matters.

Just wondering--I saw the National Guard was deployed in Minneapolis today (actually, last night). The sun went down, and they, along with the local police, just disappeared.

I am watching in Oakland right now. I don't know what the situation in Minneapolis is on the ground, but the scanner has been much less active with St. Paul PD.

He wasn't a victim of police brutality or white against black violence. And I don't recall major cities across America protesting and rioting. This is way deeper and has been a long time coming. The media is fueling the fire.

I have been watching the coverage for a couple of days, I don't see any indication of the media fanning the flames. The video of what happened to George Floyd was enough.
