Think it’s Syracuse, hope I’m wrong Based on the recent predictions, it certainly looks like we may be the bridesmaid again.

Orange have been saying they feel strong about getting Frank But they also have 3 guys that play similar position .
Aztec coaches have staying in contact with Frank - hope it pays off - Aztecs have Junior Nathan that is trying to work himself back - even when healthy only playing maybe 20 minutes and grad transfer Joshua who was only playing about 4 minutes a game - plus seems he wants to play stretch 4 . Think he would get ample PT as he earns it in practice . Nathan showed that a freshman can earn PT , as did Matt , Jordan ...
Interesting schools that have dropped off and then adding Lobos- school that has had problems with their players and now Georgia

If Frank thinks he's better than their other 2 underclass Centers, then Syracuse makes sense.

I know that for the overall good of the MWC, I should hope that if we don't get him, he goes to New Mexico. But, I just can't do that. Not the freakin' LOBOs. Please!

Orange have B. Sidibe a senior , J. Edwards a sophomore , J. Bol Ajak a red shirt freshman and also will have 2020 PF freshman Woody Newton - believe their more dire need is PG - going after a grad transfer
Hope his family has seen what a mess Lobos have been in player development /
Georgia has added PF JUCO Tyron McMillan

And Georgia. File this under when you delay this long your options dwindle. New Mexico is an interesting twist late in the game. Definitely the option which provides him with the most immediate PT, and if that's where he ends up I'd have to think Syracuse and/or SDSU may have soured on him somewhat or got tired of waiting.

With Gatch and Williamson off the board, our last hope is with Anselem. Which is ok, because real need is at 4-5

If Anselem is planning to be in college for at least 2 years, more likely 3, then SDSU is a solid choice. If he's thinking 1 or 2 seasons before going pro... maybe elsewhere.
I think he needs 3 years before thinking about the NBA and Dutch & co. would help him get there.

Elijah Brown not very fond of New Mexico. Not a good tweet considering the social environment.

Which is ok, because real need is at 4-5 [br We’ve likely never heard of the player who fills the last schollie ... but hopefully Anselem sees the huge potential for minutes after his freshman season. If healthy I can’t see Anselem getting minutes over mensah or tomaic, but big minutes by soph year. I still think a sit transfer guard is the choice.

Does anybody know if there is a limit of new scholarships per year in D1 basketball? (Football capped at 25). I was wondering because they are already going to have 5 openings next year, without this scholarship if left open this year.
I heard the max number of scholarships is 5 per year, just can't find any info, can someone help.

With the crazy things going on all over our country . It is nice to hear that a good amount of players come back to visit with their Aztec coaches and fellow team mates .
Do hope that Frank and his family take that into account when they are choosing a school . Do think our coaches care about their guys while they are here and after they have finished with the program . Maybe that happens at all schools but nice to know it happens here .
There was an interesting article in Tuesday UT talking about Football HC Brady H and we hear numerous times about the relationship Dutcher had with Fab 5 and others . Yanni had a great article also lately .
Numerous coaches are great salesman / coaches but relationships and communication is not always there . Aztec coaches have stayed with recruits who have been injured or have had difficulties but have been up front with them the coaches did a good job adding talented players for this recruiting class but has hurt not being able to have the recruits in now to finish the 2020 roster .

It seemed like he was close to committing to us, then it got real quiet. So, not very optimistic for this one.

It seemed like he was close to committing to us, then it got real quiet. So, not very optimistic for this one. I find it difficult to understand a legitimate reason New Mexico is involved in this, and other, recruiting battles. It's not the program, they haven't been relevant, outside a couple years with Alford, in decades. New Mexico rarely goes to the big dance and essentially never advances. Albuquerque is an armpit. An armpit in the poorest state in the union. The program is a dumpster fire and has been, off and on, for years. The players they get turn into problems. Lots of transfers in and out. There is little stability. I know the Pit is pretty cool, but what about the rest of their basketball facilities? So why would a player show interest in New Mexico when there are so many other legitimately better opportunities across the nation? I leave that for others to decide. But something doesn't seem kosher.
