I don’t understand why we never ran a low post play through Yanni. Our office runs best when we get it inside and swing it. There was a serious breakdown of coaching to not yell at the team to get it into the low post. Makes no sense to me.

It was inevitable that the lack of bench scoring was going to bite us in the a$$ at some point. We got outscored 26-4 and with a rare bad night from virtually every starter on O, we deserved to lose. This. The bench players have regressed the past few weeks. Pulliam had that great game at UNLV, and now it seems like he's afraid to do anything offensively. I think an issue is the bench hasn’t played as much in the last few weeks. IMO, Dutcher has tightened the rotations. In the first half, I believe only Seiko and Narain subbed in - and that for a very short time. This is not the winning formula used for most of the season: use our depth to play a lockdown defense and wear teams down. That being said, I’m confident we will regroup and start a new 11-game winning streak.

You can blame the bench tonight but they have not been getting regular minutes. The starters laid a collective egg tonight

Look at those fresh legs out there. It paid off today. The team hasn't been playing well the last two weeks. Our bench scoring has been non existence. The true test will be on Tuesday. I want to see this team come out hungry. Coach K said it best a few days ago, “This team has been feed and has lost its hunger.”

Well all I can say was that was a total team effort. Maybe only positive was Arop. And not sure why he didn't play more? Didn't care for substitutions, MM freshman year revisited or the lack of play in the paint(offense or defense). For a team that prides itself on unselfish play and making the extra pass, not sure I saw more than 2 twice. Flynn showed up late but was the only one. Too many missed layups, turnovers and free throws. Hope that is the only egg we lay.

Quick note to coach: SD union sport page told about easy practices this week. Having second thoughts about that, Coach? Note to court caretakers: please remove Saran Wrap from Aztec basket before the first half begins. Note to team: nice almost come back, 3 missed shots in the final couple of minutes and Yani, make the free shots and you would have won. Note to fans: wow most of you stayed to the end, no gray tide today. time to start a new streak.

Remember the "No losses when leading with 5 minutes" streak? All streaks end. Start a new one.

Remember the "No losses when leading with 5 minutes" streak? All streaks end. Start a new one. the Aztecs trailed most of the game from Aztecs 14-13 lead including at the 5 minute mark so the 5 minute mark was not involved today. conference and home winning streak being snapped. my beard will be shaved.

Baylor had a tough game and lost it, YBU will rush the court, and the Aztecs shat the court. 2-22? 40 years ago, I witnessed another miracle… … or was it just not a night for favorites? Go Aztecs!

I think we should give more first half min to our bench players and run plays for them to score to try to boost their confidence for the rest of the season. If it works, our depth will be really good in the tournament. I hope arop gets more minutes. He was playing well tonight.

He subbed early and way more than I thought he should, and we got farther behind. I would of liked to see more Arop especially on Hamilton in first half.

I saw the replay at 3.3 seconds left and it should have been Aztecs ball. It went off a unlv player inbounds and touched Arop out of bounds. They even reviewed it. I hope SDSU never see these three blind mice refs again. And to the fan I encountered who said don't blame refs. B.S. Poor shot selection doomed the Aztecs and questionable officiating.

I would like to know the actual rule on that. The UNLV player had the ball in mid air out of bounds, and threw it off Arop who was standing out of bounds. I can see an argument for both teams.

I hate to blame anyone, but I would say Wetzell missed a lot of bunnies, missed FTs and didn't rebound as he should. We need Nathan to take the pressure off him.

Wetzell played like hot garbage. Mitchell letting 1000 points get to his head and played hero ball. He couldn't even execute a 3 on 1 properly. If I'm a future opponent, I immediately move into the spot in the lane to wait for that spin move and get a charge. Schakel and KJ - useless tonight. Flynn was garbage, too.

They defended Yanni well, made it hard for us to get entry passes to him when he was near the basket. When he did get the ball, he was often out of position. One of his first shots he was practically under the backboard and missed. You can't take what's not there. Much credit to UNLV. Arop was in for the last several minutes because he was more effective.
