There's a conspiracy theory going around that we threw this game to move down a bracket to get a more favorable spot. When we DO get to the tourney, we're all 0-0. Oldie Out If Gonzaga loses then we won’t be in a favorable spot since we’ll be a 2 seed and not in the West. Uh... wrong |

There is NO WAY the Zags won’t be a 1 seed. Even if they lose tonight. They’d have to lose twice and that ain’t happening There were the 3rd 1 seed. A loss could easily bump them to 5th overall. Have you looked at the teams behind? They all have multiple losses. The committee said there is a big gap between the top 4 seeds and the rest. One loss by #2 Gonzaga is going to change that. I still love this team, but for most of the game that was an awful performance. Too much standing straight up and down on defense. We looked uncoached. We missed assignments and not everyone on the floor knew what we were trying to do at all times. KJ and Yanni were absolutely horrible tonight, from turnovers to weak attempts at attacking the rim. Now it’s very important that even though we lost, we use this as a positive. There are A LOT of teaching moments that came from this game and I imagine a long film session on what we have to improve upon is coming. I still believe in this team a ton and think we can make the final four. On the bright side, maybe we can all go up and takeover Staples Center in the Sweet 16 and Elite 8 games;)

This, ladies and gents, is what we call an off night. Coach Dutch has preached routine to this team from day one, and tonight was anything but. The banner ceremony was a bad decision, the opponent was a tough one from a match up standpoint, and we picked a helluva night to play very poorly from a Mental standpoint....it was just bad. Free throws, bone head plays, turnovers, lack of energy, all of it contributed tonight. Personally I’m kinda glad the monkey is off the back in regards to the undefeated season, as fun as it’s been. So much tape to review on this one, Dutch will have no shortage of content to speak on. We haven’t played great since the blowout at UNM and tonight bit us on the ass, we were due. Regroup, get better, finish the season strong.

You hang the banner before the end of the season and psychologically the team considers the season over. Even if they say they didn't. That could not help against a hot shooting team.

They’d move us to a 3 in the west before shipping us as a 2. First of all the committee has explicitly said they won’t move teams on seed lines just for a closer regional. A guaranteed close location is only for the sub-regional. The pressure is now on for us to win out cause there absolutely no guarantee we play as a 2 in the West otherwise. And FYI that NC State team you think is so bad is far better rated than UNLV and would probably be in the tournament as of today. |

If Dayton finishes with 2 losses and Gonzaga with 3 there’s still a good chance Gonzaga is seeded over them... that would require Dayton to win out and Gonzaga to lose tonight and once more. Seems very unlikely and even then might not be enough for Dayton. |

It was inevitable that the lack of bench scoring was going to bite us in the a$$ at some point. We got outscored 26-4 and with a rare bad night from virtually every starter on O, we deserved to lose. This. The bench players have regressed the past few weeks. Pulliam had that great game at UNLV, and now it seems like he's afraid to do anything offensively. |

Gonzaga might lose tonight, but won't lose again. They'll hold onto that 1 seed no problem. Of the teams that are chasing us, Dayton is the one to worry about. But if we both win out, I think we hold the No. 1. The ACC is strong enough that Duke is liable to lose at least one more time.

1st half defense was horrible. UNLV was getting their way inside and out. 2nd half we did better, but it seemed like all game we couldn't hit our shots. We missed some close shots in the 2nd half that may have cost us the game. Our rebounding was at times weak after a missed free throw by unlv. Hopefully this is the only off night game of the season left and that we regroup and focus on winning.
