Tough choice. Something about the #1 seed is special. However, would prefer to be in the West at all costs.

What the Hell's the difference? To win it all you need to beat 'em all. Home, road, it makes no difference. Just win baby.

Keep winning and it may not be an issue... If the planets align and we manage to finish the season unbeaten, it could be us as the #1 in the west and Gonzaga who gets pushed to the Midwest! It could happen! Why not us?

It could happen! Why not us? That could happen. Gonzaga still has to play St. Mary's twice, and on the road at BYU. The Zags crushed BYU last night, but they were without Yoeli Childs. He should be back when they play later this season.

Actually to win it all you only need to beat 6 of 'em, having a better seed gives you an easier slate of 6 to beat. And if home or road made no difference, then home teams wouldn't perform significantly better. That in essence is the question- does the proximity of playing close to home (the 2 seed in the west) outweigh the quality of opponent you have to play.

3. San Diego State Aztecs (19-0) Previous ranking: 3 This week: vs. Wyoming (Tuesday), at UNLV (Sunday)
The No. 1 debate revolves mostly around Baylor and Gonzaga, but San Diego State continues to roll through its schedule and doesn't look like it'll be slowing down anytime soon. The Aztecs should be favored by at least five or six points in every single remaining game. But before you go and knock their résumé, take a closer look. They're No. 2 in the NET, top 10 in the BPI and at KenPom, and have nine wins away from home -- the second most in the country. They have three Quadrant 1 wins -- the same amount as Gonzaga, Duke, Florida State, etc. It's not a résumé that will get much better as the season enters the homestretch, but the Aztecs are clearly a top-five team in the country right now.

I'd like a #1 seed all day. We can play it in London for all I care, I just think it'd be awesome to actually get a 1 seed

I don't think the difference between playing a #16 vs a #15, an #8 vs a #7 etc is substantial enough to give up LA for Indianapolis. It would be nice to get a #1 for posterity but I'd rather drive to LA than fly to Indiana.

We can play it in London for all I care, I just think it'd be awesome to actually get a 1 seed So you’d rather be the 1-Seed in the Midwest (for example) with the prospect of playing Butler in Indy than a 2-Seed in the West potentially playing Gonzaga in LA? Listen, I get it, being a number 1-Seed would be wicked cool but it would only be cool if we got to the Final Four or at least the Elite 8. Playing in Sacramento and then Los Angeles would give us the best possible chance of doing that whether we’re a 1-Seed or a 2-Seed.

I'm hoping for undefeated and assuming Gonzaga will stumble at least once. My question is, what happens if we stumble once? Will we get hammered in the rankings? We would then find out if the pollsters believe in us, or simply have us ranked so high due to the undefeated record.

I've never been to an NCAA Tournament game that SDSU played in, but it's been on my bucket list for years. The way March Madness is set up makes it impossible to plan a trip. You don't know where (or if) you'll be playing until Sunday before. So with that said I am crossing my fingers for an SDSU Sweet 16 in LA. There's nothing that would stop me from going to that game and the potential Elite 8 game that followed.

Pollsters have nothing to do with the committee

I think that it's important to win out at home and win at least two games at the MGC tournament. One road loss would not kill our chances of a 2 seed; two road/neutral losses might still get us a 3 seed, but of course, it's all speculation. Just win, baby!

Realistically I don't think it makes a huge difference and either way getting to the final 4 without Mensah is a tall order. I think it'd be cool to do something we've never done before (getting the 1 seed), and I'm not banking on us reaching the final 4

The WCC is in quality like the A-10/MWC. The reason Gonzaga will steamroll through the conference is because they have a incredibly good deep team. I think the WCC this year is a bit stronger than MWC, but easier for a good team to win out. They do not have the elevation or crowds of the MWC. Winning at the Pit or Wyoming or any of the mountain schools presents a challenge for low elevation teams. UNLV and the Pit hold large crowds. Wyoming is hard to get to. The MWC road games, especially for low elevation teams, present challenges that exceed the WCC.

All depends on the path....really doesn’t matter which seed you get if the path to the final four has favorable matchups all the way.

I would rather play a #4 in the sweet 16 in stead of a #3 and a #2 instead of a #1 in the elite 8.

All depends on the path....really doesn’t matter which seed you get if the path to the final four has favorable matchups all the way. Basketball really isn't my sport. Nevertheless, this season has been thrilling and the poise with which our guys play is inspiring. One would assume playing in the West would enhance the prospects of a greater turnout of Aztecs fans for Sweet 16 games held in Los Angeles as opposed to being in the East bracket and playing such games in New York but maybe I'm uninformed about how much that might matter?
